Crushed Granite Gravel

4.91,920 verified Hello Gravel reviews

Angular 1/2–1" granite for paths, beds, and patios

Crushed granite is natural granite broken into angular pieces about 1/2 to 1 inch across. The sharp edges knit together, so it stays put better than rounded stone on paths and gentle slopes. Granite is hard and colored all the way through, so it holds its look in sun and rain. Use it for walkways, decorative beds, xeriscapes, and around patios. Size varies slightly and color varies by location.

Crushed granite gravel is angular decorative granite sized 1/2 to 1 inch, not fine decomposed granite that packs into a smooth surface.

Also called: granite gravel, crushed granite rock, 1/2 inch granite, decorative granite, granite chips, landscape granite.

Crushed granite is the chunkier, faster-draining cousin of decomposed granite. Pick decomposed granite for a smooth packed patio, or walkway gravel for rounded stone underfoot.

I ordered fill dirt to grade around my house. The process was so simple! The driver met me where I wanted him to drop the dirt. I think I spent a total of 30 min with the ordering, paying, and the truck arriving with the material the day they said they would be there. I'm very pleased.

Hello Gravel found me while I was looking for dirt to fill a hole that opened up in my back yard. I originally searched on DirtMatch and when I spoke with Chuck I was originally quoted for 1 ton of dirt. After showing pictures it turned out I needed less than half of that. Chuck talked me through the process of picking the right soil, how to fill the hole, and where to get what I needed from the Lowes local to me. Uploaded pictures of how we found it, after we dug out all the overhang and cleaned it out, and after we filled it in. I saved $400 by talking with Chuck and it only took like 3 hours. I wasn't even an official customer and Chuck took the time to help me with the hole in my yard. And on a weekend no less!!! What I'm saying is if you're looking for honest, kind, caring people to help you with your job. From my experience, this is the place.

Frequently Asked Questions

Use the calculator with your length, width, and depth. Paths and beds usually take 2 to 3 inches. One ton covers about 115 square feet at 2 inches deep.

Decomposed granite is fine, sandy granite that packs into a smooth, firm surface. Crushed granite is bigger and chunkier. It drains faster and looks like gravel, but it won't pack as smooth. Pick DG for patios and seating areas, crushed granite for beds and textured paths.

Yes. Angular stone locks together better than rounded rock. Rake it level, then run a plate compactor or roller over it for a firmer path.

No. Granite is colored all the way through. Rain washes off surface dust, and the color looks richer when wet.

Edging keeps the stone out of your lawn. Fabric underneath cuts down on weeds and keeps the stone from sinking into the soil.

By dump truck, straight to your property. The driver dumps it in one pile where you choose. Pick a firm, level spot the truck can reach, clear of cars and overhead wires. Delivery is included in the price you see.
