Deep espresso fir that gives beds a sharp, modern edge.
Black dyed fir is Douglas fir bark screened to 5/8" minus and colored a deep, dark brown with carbon black pigment. It's the pick for modern landscapes and high-contrast beds — the espresso tone frames plantings cleanly, hides debris between refreshes, and keeps its color long after natural bark has gone grey. One cubic yard weighs approximately 500 lbs; spread approximately 2" deep for best results. Hello Gravel delivers it in bulk by dump truck across Salem and the Willamette Valley.

Hello Gravel cared more about the structural integrity of my house than they did about making the sale. I was trying to place an order to buy dirt to place between a retaining wall and footings at the base of columns that hold up my house. They could have just sold me anything for profit, but they told me to go get the advice of a structural engineer, knowing that the structural engineer would probably order the dirt himself and possibly from another company. That’s integrity.
