#89 Limestone
Small 1/4–3/8" limestone chip for pavers, paths, and pipe
#89 limestone is crushed limestone screened to a small chip, roughly 1/4 to 3/8 inch, with most of the fines removed. The small angular pieces settle into a firm, even layer that still drains, which makes it a good bed under pavers and flagstone, a walkway and garden path surface, and bedding around pipe. It's always limestone, so we only offer it where limestone is quarried nearby. Size varies slightly and color varies by location.
#89 limestone is a small, angular limestone chip about 1/4 to 3/8 inch, guaranteed limestone rather than #89 crushed stone that can be any rock the quarry runs.
Also called: 89 limestone, 3/8 limestone, small limestone chip.

Frequently Asked Questions
Use the calculator with your length, width, and depth. Paver beds and walkways usually take 2 to 3 inches. One ton covers about 115 square feet at 2 inches deep.
It's a standard size number used by quarries and road departments. #89 stone is a small chip, mostly between about 3/8 inch and 1/4 inch, with little fine material. Exact sizing varies slightly by quarry.
Same size, specific rock. #89 crushed stone can be granite, trap rock, or limestone depending on the quarry. #89 limestone is always limestone, which is a bit softer and usually lighter in color. Pick it when your plans or your contractor call for limestone.
Yes. Compact your base layer first, then screed a thin, level bed of #89 on top and set the pavers. Because the fines are screened out, water drains through instead of pooling under the pavers.
Yes. The small chips settle evenly around pipe and conduit without big pieces pressing on it, and water still drains through. Check your local code or project spec for the bedding it requires.
By dump truck, straight to your property. The driver dumps it in one pile where you choose. Pick a firm, level spot the truck can reach, clear of cars and overhead wires. Delivery is included in the price you see.
