Clean crushed rock, zero fines — water goes through, rock stays put.
3/4" open rock is crushed river rock screened from 1/4" to 3/4" with the fines taken out — which is the whole point. Without fines it stays free-draining forever, making it the right call for French drains, retaining wall backfill, filtration systems, and soggy driveways and parking areas that need water gone. One thing it won't do is lock together like 3/4 minus, so keep it out of structural bases. One cubic yard weighs approximately 2,200 lbs. Hello Gravel delivers it in bulk by dump truck across Salem and the Willamette Valley.
