Mini Rip Rap

Mini Rip Rap is a durable, coarse aggregate composed of angular stone pieces that are smaller than traditional rip rap, typically ranging from 2” to 6” in size. Produced by mechanically breaking down larger rocks, this material retains the strength and stability of standard rip rap but in a more manageable, compact form.

The reduced size of Mini Rip Rap makes it ideal for projects where space is limited or where finer control over placement is needed. It is commonly used for erosion control along small drainage channels, garden beds, and residential landscape borders. In commercial settings, it’s effective for stabilizing slopes, protecting culvert inlets, and reinforcing small embankments. The smaller stones interlock well, providing excellent resistance to water flow while being easier to handle and install than larger rip rap. However, due to its size, it may not be suitable for heavy-duty shoreline protection where larger stones are required.
