Coarse crushed stone in the 3/4" to 3/8" size range is a versatile aggregate produced by mechanically breaking down larger rocks into angular fragments. This specific size blend offers a balance between stability and drainage, making it ideal for a wide range of construction and landscaping projects.




The coarse, angular nature of this material ensures excellent interlocking properties, which enhances load-bearing capacity and reduces shifting under pressure. The 3/4" to 3/8" size is particularly effective for use as a base layer beneath driveways, patios, and walkways, as well as for drainage applications such as French drains and retaining wall backfill. Its larger particle size allows for superior water flow, minimizing the risk of pooling or erosion, while still providing a stable surface. However, because it is coarse and angular, it may be less comfortable for barefoot use and can be more challenging to compact compared to finer aggregates.
