3/4" minus crushed limestone is a versatile construction aggregate produced by mechanically crushing limestone rock into angular fragments, with the largest pieces measuring up to 3/4 inch and smaller particles filling the gaps. The "minus" designation means the material includes a range of sizes down to fines, which helps it compact tightly.




This size and composition make it ideal for creating stable, load-bearing surfaces. The angular shape of the crushed limestone locks together when compacted, providing excellent support for driveways, road bases, walkways, and patios. The fines content enhances compaction, reducing voids and minimizing shifting over time. Commonly used in both residential and commercial projects, 3/4" minus crushed limestone is also suitable for backfilling, under slab preparation, and as a base for retaining walls. Its main advantage is superior compaction and stability, though it may not drain as freely as larger, clean stone due to the presence of fines.
