The "minus" designation means all pieces are 1.5 inches or smaller, allowing for excellent compaction and load-bearing capacity.




This specific size and gradation make MDOT 21Aa limestone ideal for road base, driveway foundations, parking lots, and heavy-use commercial surfaces. The mix of larger stones and fines creates a dense, stable base that resists shifting and settling, while the limestone composition offers durability and resistance to weathering.
