#10 Stone in a 1/4” Minus Size Range

#10 stone in a 1/4" minus size range is a finely crushed aggregate, often referred to as stone dust or screenings. Produced by crushing larger stones and screening them to ensure particles are 1/4 inch and smaller, this material has a powdery texture with some very fine granules.




The 1/4" minus sizing allows #10 stone to compact tightly, making it an excellent choice for creating a stable, level base. It is commonly used under pavers, patios, and walkways, as well as for filling joints between stones or bricks. Its fine texture also makes it suitable for use as a top dressing on driveways or as a leveling layer beneath concrete slabs. While its excellent compaction reduces shifting and settling, it is less effective for drainage compared to coarser aggregates. This makes #10 stone ideal where stability and smoothness are priorities, but less suitable for applications requiring high permeability.
