Why Riviera Homeowners Choose Hello Gravel
Riviera is a small but growing community with a city population of 1,448 located in West Florida. With a metro area of 2.5+ million and an annual growth rate of 2.50% annually, demand for reliable building materials is rising—new homes, yard remodels, and small commercial projects all need proper grading and stable backfill. Riviera’s climate (228 sunny days per year and 34.00 inches of annual rainfall, hardiness zone 8b) supports year-round work but also creates challenges: heavy sun can dry out topsoil while seasonal rains require well-compacted fill to prevent erosion and settling. Homeowners increasingly look for quality aggregates that compact well, resist washout, and arrive on schedule, so projects stay on track and foundations, patios, and lawns perform as expected. Fill Dirt is the go-to material for raising grade, backfilling foundations, and correcting low spots in Riviera’s coastal-influenced soils. Because local projects face both sun and rainfall, clean, low-organic-content fill dirt that compacts in layers helps reduce future settling and erosion. Hello Gravel connects you with locally sourced suppliers and professional haulers so you get regionally appropriate fill dirt delivered by dump truck—minimum orders start at 3 tons, standard delivery takes 2+ business days, and next-day delivery is available for orders placed before noon CST. Use our material calculator or contact our team for quantity help and delivery scheduling.Popular Projects in Riviera This Season

Frequently Asked Questions - Riviera Fill Dirt Delivery
Everything you need to know about fill dirt delivery in Riviera.
Prices vary by supplier and distance, but in Riviera you can typically expect about $15 to $40 per cubic yard for ordinary fill dirt. A typical tri-axle truck carries about 10 to 14 loose cubic yards, so a single truckload often runs in the $150 to $600 range before any delivery fees or site services. Hello Gravel shows exact local pricing and availability in checkout and has a 3-ton minimum order.
Per cubic yard, loose fill dirt is usually cheaper than crushed gravel. However, for a driveway you often need a gravel base for drainage and compaction, so gravel can be the more cost-effective choice long term because it reduces maintenance and sinking. For simple lawn leveling, fill dirt is the economical option in coastal Florida yards.
Most local suppliers use tri-axle dump trucks that deliver roughly 10 to 14 cubic yards loose; some jobs use larger end-dumps or transfer trucks for bigger orders. Truckload prices depend on material, distance, and access but commonly range from about $150 to $600 per load; Hello Gravel will show the exact truck type and cost when you get a quote. Remember weight and yards convert differently by soil type—ask your supplier for cubic yard and ton estimates.
For 1,000 sq ft: 2" = about 6.2 cubic yards (≈8 tons), 3" = about 9.3 cubic yards (≈12 tons), 4" = about 12.4 cubic yards (≈16 tons), and 6" = about 18.5 cubic yards (≈24 tons). At a typical Riviera material price of $15 to $40 per cubic yard, material cost for 4" of fill would be roughly $185 to $495, plus delivery and any spreading/compaction fees. Use Hello Gravel's material calculator or request a quote for exact pricing for your address.
Yes. Riviera sits in a coastal Florida environment with sandy soils, occasional shell content, and a relatively high water table—these factors influence fill performance and the need for engineered or clean fill. Local building departments or HOAs may require permits for large fills, elevation changes, erosion control, or drainage work, which can affect total cost and timelines. We recommend checking with Riviera's local permitting office before placing large orders.
Most suppliers deliver with dump trucks; optional tailgate spreading may be available but is at the driver's discretion and not guaranteed. Professional spreading and compaction are usually separate services and often cost extra; fees vary by supplier, job size, and site access. Hello Gravel lets you request spreading in order notes and will list delivery fees and any optional service charges on your quote.
Fill dirt contains fine particles and is intended to raise grade or fill low spots; it compacts reasonably well for landscaping but does not drain like gravel. Gravel and crushed stone provide better drainage and a stable, durable base for driveways and structures when compacted. For coastal Riviera projects, it's common to use fill dirt to build grade and then a gravel base for driveways or structures to ensure proper drainage and load-bearing capacity.
Yes, many local suppliers offer volume pricing for multiple truckloads, and Hello Gravel can coordinate bulk orders and negotiate rates with local haulers. Discounts depend on total volume, distance, and seasonal availability, so contact our team or request a multi-load quote to see exact savings. Larger commercial orders may get the best per-yard pricing.
Standard delivery lead time is typically 2 or more business days from order confirmation, and next-day delivery may be available for orders placed before noon CST for an extra fee. Actual lead time depends on local inventory, truck availability, and site access. Hello Gravel shows available delivery dates during checkout so you can pick a date that works for your schedule.
Plan for site-prep costs (removing vegetation, debris, or topsoil), spreading and compaction equipment or contractor fees, and possible erosion control or silt fencing for large fills. You may also need permits, grading plans, or soil testing for structural projects, and suppliers may charge extra for long haul distances, difficult access, or offloading with a smaller truck. Include a contingency for 10% to 20% above material-and-delivery quotes to cover these common extras.
Confirm clear truck access, hard turn-around space, and overhead clearance before delivery—soft sandy driveways in coastal areas can bog down heavy trucks. Mark the desired drop location clearly, call Miss Utility before digging or compacting, and note that tidal or wet-season conditions can affect site accessibility. If you need spreading or compaction, request it up front so we can coordinate the right truck and crew.
As of today, we require 2 business days for delivery.
