Decomposed Granite
Known for its natural look, this compact, durable material drains well and holds up in high-traffic areas. Made from crushed and weathered granite down to a mix of fine gravel and sand—best for patios, paths, driveways, and landscape projects. Can range in color from light brown and tan to reddish and gray, depending on the natural stone color in the region.
Walkway Gravel
A smaller ⅜” crushed stone that is great for paths, patios, and garden walkways. Comfortable under foot thanks to its smaller size, and creates a beautiful garden-like atmosphere.
Road Base
(Class 5 | ABC | Crusher Run) A mixture of crushed limestone or granite, gravel, and sand, ranging from 1 ½” in size down to fines (small particles). Commonly used for constructing roads, driveway bases, parking lots, and other paved and unpaved surfaces. Intended to be compacted, hence the inclusion of fines within the material to provide support and be resistant to erosion and shifting.

Why Nevada Homeowners Choose Hello Gravel
Nevada's city population is 8,550 and it sits within a West Texas metro with a metro area population of 2.5+ million, a region seeing steady residential and infrastructure activity. With a growth rate of 0.70% annually, homeowners and contractors are steadily adding driveways, patios, and erosion-control features that depend on quality aggregates. Nevada averages 228 sunny days per year and receives 34.00 inches of rainfall annually, and it lies in hardiness zone 8b — a combination of sun and occasional heavy rain that makes both drainage and heat-tolerant landscaping priorities. That climate and steady growth drive demand for durable, well-graded gravel that stabilizes soil, improves runoff, and reduces long-term maintenance for outdoor projects.Popular Projects in Nevada This Season

Frequently Asked Questions - Nevada gravel Delivery
Everything you need to know about gravel delivery in Nevada.
Texas black gravel is a general term for dark-colored crushed stone such as dark limestone, slag, or crushed basalt used for driveways and accents. Availability near Nevada, TX depends on local suppliers; Hello Gravel sources regionally, so you may see dark crushed limestone or recycled slag rather than the exact product pictured online. Ask for photos or order notes at checkout to state color preferences.
River rock is larger and rounded, while pea gravel is small (about 1/8" to 3/8") and also rounded; both drain well but behave differently. Use river rock for dry creek beds, drainage or decorative borders, and pea gravel for walkways or play areas where a softer surface is preferred; avoid pea gravel on steep slopes because it can roll and migrate. In West Texas heat, lighter colors reflect more sun, so color choice can affect surface temperature.
Costs vary by material, quantity, and distance, but a tri-axle dump truck load (about 10–12 tons) in the region commonly ranges from roughly $300 to $1,000. Prices are lower for common crushed limestone or caliche and higher for specialty stones or long hauls. Hello Gravel requires a 3-ton minimum and provides transparent quotes—get a site-specific estimate through our checkout or by contacting our team.
The most common types you will see locally are crushed stone (angular), pea gravel (small rounded), and river rock (larger rounded). Regionally, crushed limestone and caliche are widespread in Texas, with occasional crushed granite or recycled concrete depending on supplier. Each type has different looks and performance for driveways, drainage, and landscaping.
Avoid pea gravel on steep slopes, high-traffic driveways, and areas where you need a stable, compacted surface because it shifts and compacts poorly. Also skip pea gravel where children play barefoot or where lawnmowers will run over it frequently. For driveways or vehicle areas in West Texas, consider crushed stone that locks together better.
Locally sourced crushed limestone or caliche is often the most economical option because it is plentiful in many parts of Texas. Recycled crushed concrete can also be a budget-friendly choice but may have more fines and color variation. Consider the tradeoffs: cheaper materials can save money upfront but may require more maintenance or give a different look than quarried stone.
A quick rule: calculate area (length x width) and depth, convert to cubic yards, then multiply by 1.3–1.5 to estimate tons (1 cubic yard of gravel weighs about 1.3–1.5 tons depending on type). For example, a 10x10 area at 2 inches deep needs about 0.6 cubic yards, roughly 0.8–0.9 tons. Use Hello Gravel's material calculator or contact our team for a site-specific calculation.
Plan for standard delivery via tri-axle dump truck and ensure the truck can reach your dump location without low overhead lines or tight turns; confirm where you want the material left and note any driveway or neighborhood restrictions. Hello Gravel requires 2+ business days for standard delivery (next-day options exist for orders placed before noon CST) and a 3-ton minimum; request tailgate spreading at checkout but know drivers perform spreading at their discretion.
Maintenance is mostly periodic raking to keep an even surface, topping up thin areas every 1–3 years, and using edging to prevent spread into beds. In arid West Texas, dust and fine particles can accumulate—occasional watering, adding fines, or using a stabilizer can help control dust and reduce migration. Check for washouts after heavy storms and refill low spots as needed.
As of today, we require 2 business days for delivery.
