Why New Market Homeowners Choose Hello Gravel
New Market is a small but steadily growing community of 690 residents. With a measured growth rate of 0.40% annually, demand for homeowner-driven projects—driveway repairs, landscape upgrades, small additions, and routine site work—tends to be steady rather than explosive, which favors predictable, scheduled deliveries and smaller, frequent orders over large-scale site fills. The local climate and geography shape material needs: 228 sunny days per year and 34.25 inches of annual rainfall create alternating wet and dry periods, while a hardiness zone of 8b supports a long planting season. Together these conditions increase the importance of drainage-friendly soils and sands, stable aggregates for paths and driveways, and durable base materials for patios and foundations. Regional sourcing means color and texture will vary, so choosing the right material and quantity helps ensure longevity, lower maintenance, and results that suit New Market’s environment.Popular Projects in New Market This Season

Frequently Asked Questions - New Market Gravel Delivery
Everything you need to know about gravel delivery in New Market.
Start by considering function: load-bearing surfaces, drainage needs, and the look you want. Regional suppliers often offer blends suited to West Iowa conditions; ask about options that balance compaction, drainage, and longevity. Use our material calculator or contact the Hello Gravel team for recommendations based on your measurements and intended use.
Materials are suitable for driveways, pathways, patios, drainage trenches, erosion control, garden beds, and base layers for pavers or sheds. Customers commonly use gravel, sand, dirt, stone for both temporary and permanent installations. If you have an unusual project, describe it to our team and we will suggest appropriate material quantities and delivery options.
Freeze-thaw cycles can cause frost heave and surface movement if soils retain water. Choosing well-draining mixes and a stable base layer helps reduce freeze-related issues; contractors often combine appropriate base material with proper grading and drainage. Discuss your local site conditions with our team so we can recommend materials and installation tips that stand up to West Iowa winters.
Spring through fall is ideal for most exterior work because ground is not frozen and access is easier; late spring and summer avoid some wet-season delays. We accept orders year-round, but deliveries may be harder to schedule in winter or after heavy rain due to site access. Plan ahead and use our calendar at checkout — standard delivery is 2+ business days, with a next-day option for orders placed before noon CST (additional fee).
Hello Gravel standard minimum order is 3 tons, with standard delivery taking 2+ business days. Next-day delivery may be available for orders placed before noon CST for an extra fee. Delivery fees vary by distance, access difficulty, and supplier; many areas offer free delivery, but check your zip code or contact our team for a specific quote.
Some local suppliers and haulers offer onsite estimates for rural or large projects, but many projects are quoted remotely based on photos, measurements, and site descriptions. For remote quotes, provide driveway access details, drop location photos, and any obstacles so we can coordinate the right truck and estimate. If you prefer an onsite visit, ask our team and we will connect you with local partners who may be able to help.
Tell us the driveway length, gate widths, overhead clearances, surface type, and any tight turns or weight-restricted roads. Tri-axle dump trucks are commonly used, so we need to know if a smaller truck or special routing is required. Upload photos and notes at checkout or call our team so we can arrange the right truck and reduce the chance of delays or extra charges.
Quantities vary by coverage area and depth, but rough ranges help with planning: a compacted 1-car driveway often needs about 6-12 cubic yards (8-12 tons), a 2-car driveway 12-24 cubic yards (16-30 tons), a 10' x 10' patio at 2-3 inches depth needs about 1-2 cubic yards (1-3 tons), and small garden beds may use 0.5-2 cubic yards (1-4 tons). Use our material calculator for precise estimates based on your exact dimensions and preferred depth.
Choose materials based on permeability, particle size, and long-term stability: better-draining mixes help water move away from structures, while larger, stable material helps resist washout on slopes. Site slope, soil type, and local rainfall patterns matter, so plan for proper grading and consider geotextile fabric or multiple layers for added stability. Contact our specialists for material recommendations tailored to drainage or erosion concerns in New Market.
You can request tailgate spreading or other instructions at checkout, but drivers perform spreading at their discretion and we cannot guarantee this service. Provide clear drop location instructions and note any preferred staging areas to help the driver unload safely. For large or precision spreading jobs, consider hiring a local contractor or requesting an onsite estimate so expectations are clear.
Natural materials reflect regional geology, so color and texture can vary; include color preferences in Order Notes but expect some variation. If you need to change or cancel, contact Hello Gravel as soon as possible — we will try to accommodate requests before the order is processed or dispatched. For quality concerns after delivery, contact customer service and we will work with our local supplier to resolve the issue in line with our policies.
