Why Whitfield Homeowners Choose Hello Gravel
Whitfield is a community of 14,000 residents located within a rapidly developing Florida region that sits inside a metro area of 2.3+ million people. A steady growth rate of 0.69% annually means construction and renovation activity is consistent rather than boom-driven, so homeowners can expect ongoing demand for projects like driveway installs, garden makeovers, and outdoor hardscape upgrades. Whitfield’s climate — characterized by 228 sunny days and 33.69 inches of annual rainfall in hardiness zone 8b — drives specific material choices: durable, UV-resistant top layers for sun exposure, and well-draining bases and erosion-control options to handle periodic heavy rains. Local trends toward outdoor living, low-maintenance landscaping, and storm-resilient improvements make access to quality bulk materials (gravel, sand, dirt, mulch, and stone) essential for long-term performance and lower upkeep.Popular Projects in Whitfield This Season

Frequently Asked Questions - Whitfield Gravel Delivery
Everything you need to know about gravel delivery in Whitfield.
Prices vary by material, supplier, and delivery distance, but in the Florida region a typical range is about $30 to $80 per cubic yard for common aggregates. Finer or specialty blends and added delivery or service fees can raise the price, and larger orders often lower the per-yard cost. Use our quote tool or contact our team for an exact price for your zip code.
Weight depends on material type, moisture, and compaction; a cubic yard of typical fill dirt usually weighs about 1.2 to 1.5 tons (roughly 2,400 to 3,000 lbs). Other materials like gravel or sand may be heavier or lighter, so plan using weight ranges and check with our team if truck capacity or weight limits matter for your site.
Start by matching the material to the job: consider load-bearing needs, drainage, appearance, and maintenance. For most projects pick a material that balances durability and drainage, then use our material quiz or contact our sales team for recommendations based on Whitfield's local geology and climate. We can help you compare gravel, sand, dirt, stone, and blended products for your specific use.
Measure the length, width, and depth of the area and use this formula to get cubic yards: (length ft x width ft x depth in inches) / 324. Always round up and add 5-15% for compaction, waste, or uneven ground depending on the project. Our online material calculator can do this for you and factor in common job types.
Standard delivery typically takes 2 or more business days from order confirmation, and next-day delivery is available for orders placed before noon CST for an additional fee. Deliveries are made by contracted dump trucks (usually tri-axle) with a minimum order of 3 tons. You can select a preferred delivery date at checkout and we will confirm scheduling with the local supplier and hauler.
Drivers may be able to perform tailgate spreading at their discretion; you can request this service at checkout and the driver will assess safety and access upon arrival. Because spreading depends on site conditions and truck configuration, we cannot guarantee spreading and recommend planning for manual spreading or hiring local labor if you require a finished surface.
Materials are sourced regionally so color, texture, and grain size can vary based on local geology and weather conditions. Photos are examples; if color or texture is important, note your preference at checkout and contact customer service for guidance before ordering. If the delivered material differs significantly from expectations, reach out promptly so we can help resolve the issue.
Contact our team as soon as possible to request changes; we will do our best to accommodate edits before the order is processed or dispatched. Changes depend on supplier and truck schedules, so earlier requests have a better chance of being accepted. We cannot promise all changes or cancellations, but we will explain available options and next steps.
Yes. Whitfield's Florida climate means wet seasons and heavy rains can affect delivery timing, material moisture, compaction, and drive-on access. Plan projects around dry periods when possible, expect wetter, heavier loads during rainy months, and allow extra time for scheduling. Our local suppliers are familiar with these conditions and can advise on the best materials and timing.
Delivery pricing typically includes the material price per yard or ton plus a trucking fee based on distance, access, and any special services like offloading or requested spreading. Minimum order requirements, local supply availability, and fuel or seasonal surcharges can also affect the total. You will see transparent pricing at checkout and can request a quote or talk to our team for a detailed breakdown.
As of today, we require 2 business days for delivery.

We cannot get out of the truck and manually spread it. However, depending on the location, safety, and comfortability of the driver – we may be able to tailgate spread your material. This involves pulling the truck forward as material is being dumped to make it easier for you to distribute material after delivery.
The minimum order size is 3 tons.
