Why Mercer County Homeowners Choose Hello Gravel
Mercer County serves a growing homeowner market with a city population of 15,674 and ties to a larger metro area population of 2.5+ million. A steady growth rate of 3.30% annually means more renovation, infill, and new-yard projects—from driveway upgrades to backyard regrades—and a predictable uptick in demand for bulk materials. Local climate and geography shape those needs: with annual rainfall of 33.50 inches and about 152 sunny days per year in hardiness zone 8b, homeowners need materials that balance good drainage with drought resilience. That mix makes aggregates, topsoil, sand, and mulches equally important—drainage base layers for wet periods, stable surfacing for high-traffic areas, and quality planting mixes that support local plant palettes. In this environment, sourcing durable, regionally appropriate bulk materials helps projects last longer and perform better through seasonal cycles.Popular Projects in Mercer County This Season

Frequently Asked Questions - Mercer County Gravel Delivery
Everything you need to know about gravel delivery in Mercer County.
Start by describing the project (driveway, patio base, garden bed, grading). Different projects need different properties like drainage, compaction, and appearance; our material quiz and sales team can help match those needs. Remember that regional sourcing in Mercer County means gravel, sand, dirt, stone and other aggregates may vary in color and texture, so tell us any appearance preferences when you order.
Minimum orders start at 3 tons through Hello Gravel. Standard delivery typically requires at least 2 business days for scheduling, and you can choose a preferred delivery date during checkout; next-day delivery is available for orders placed before noon CST for an extra fee. Availability and fees can vary by zip code, so check your Mercer County zip or contact our team for specifics.
Materials can be sold by tons or by cubic yards; weight and volume differ by material type and moisture content, so both are useful. For coverage and depth planning use cubic yards, but for truckload and pricing questions suppliers may quote by ton. Use our material calculator or contact support to convert between tons and cubic yards for your specific material and project.
Measure the area in square feet and decide on the desired depth in inches, then use the formula: (square feet x depth in inches) / 324 = cubic yards. That converts directly to how much gravel, sand, dirt, or stone you should order. If you prefer, use our online calculator or call the sales team for help verifying quantities for irregular shapes or compaction allowance.
Next-day delivery is offered for orders placed before noon CST and carries an additional fee; same-day delivery may be available in limited cases depending on supplier and truck availability. Costs vary by zip code and how quickly haulers can be scheduled in the Mercer County area. Enter your zip code at checkout or contact our team to see available rush options and pricing.
Drivers may be able to perform tailgate spreading at their discretion, but this service is not guaranteed. You can request spreading at checkout and the driver will assess safety and feasibility upon arrival. For guaranteed installation or full spreading services, we recommend hiring a local contractor; our team can sometimes provide referrals.
Hello Gravel sources materials regionally, so color, grain size, and texture reflect local geology and supplier stock. Natural materials like gravel, sand, dirt, and stone will have inherent variations, so photos are illustrative rather than exact matches. If appearance is important, note preferences in your order notes and ask our team for recent photos of available stock.
Prices and availability can change with demand and seasonality; spring and fall landscaping seasons often see higher demand. We sometimes offer bulk-order pricing or seasonal promotions through local suppliers, but availability and discounts vary by zip code. Contact our sales team or check the site for current offers and the best time to order for your project.
Removal of old material or debris pickup is not a standard part of delivery, but some local suppliers or contracted haulers may offer haul-away services. If you need removal, contact our team before ordering so we can check local options and provide an estimate. Any additional services are subject to supplier and hauler availability and separate fees.
Pricing per ton vs per cubic yard depends on the material's density; lighter materials cover more volume per ton, while denser materials weigh more. Suppliers may quote whichever unit is standard for that material, so ask for both units or a conversion to compare apples to apples. Our team can break down quotes and conversions for your Mercer County zip code to make comparisons easier.
Deliveries are typically made by tri-axle dump trucks operated by contracted haulers, and drivers will place material where safely accessible. Ensure the delivery area has sufficient turning room, no low-hanging wires, and a stable surface for truck entry; share any access constraints in order notes. If access is limited, alternative drop locations can be arranged in advance; contact our team to discuss site specifics.
