Why Union Homeowners Choose Hello Gravel
Union has a city population of 2,080 and sits inside a larger regional market with a metro area population of 2.5+ million. That steady regional expansion—reflected in an annual growth rate of 1.90%—drives consistent demand for residential and small-scale construction work, from yard regrades and drainage fixes to new patios and driveway repairs. Union's moderate Pacific Northwest climate (USDA hardiness zone 8b) with 228 sunny days per year and an annual rainfall of 34.25 inches means materials must perform through wet winters and mild freeze cycles. Homeowners and contractors therefore prioritize bulk supplies that balance drainage, compaction, and erosion control—think mixes that shed water, base layers that stabilize, and top-dressings that resist washout. Reliable access to a range of gravel, sand, soil blends, and mulch supports projects that last in these local conditions. Local soil types and the region's wet-season pattern create specific performance needs: permeability to prevent standing water, stable aggregates to limit rutting, and mixes that tolerate seasonal settling. These site-driven requirements affect material gradation, compaction strategy, and delivery timing. For homeowners, that means choosing materials for function first and appearance second, and planning deliveries around weather windows. Hello Gravel simplifies this process by connecting you with local suppliers who know Union's conditions, providing quantity tools, clear scheduling options, and practical guidance so you can pick the right bulk materials for long-lasting results.Popular Projects in Union This Season

Frequently Asked Questions - Union Gravel Delivery
Everything you need to know about gravel delivery in Union.
Choose materials that promote drainage and stability for wet, moss-prone conditions. Look for mixes with good particle size variety and drainage properties, pair materials with a permeable base or geotextile, and consider local slope and shade when selecting depth and coverage. Because we source regionally, color and texture may vary, so request preferences in Order Notes.
Measure the area (length x width) and decide on the depth in inches, then convert that volume to cubic yards or tons using our calculator or the site's conversion guidelines. For most projects we require a 3-ton minimum order; contact our team for help with irregular shapes or multi-layer designs. Ordering slightly more than your calculation covers is wise to account for compaction and grading.
Standard delivery is scheduled for 2+ business days, and next-day delivery is available for orders placed before noon CST for an additional fee. You can choose a preferred delivery date in checkout and we will confirm with the local hauler before the drop-off. Check availability by zip code since service depends on local supplier networks.
Price depends on material type, quantity ordered, delivery distance, site access difficulty, and seasonal demand. Additional services or special truck routing may add fees. We provide transparent pricing upfront and will surface any extras before you confirm the order.
Truck access depends on driveway width, overhead clearance, ground firmness, and local road restrictions. Clear vehicles and obstacles from the drop zone and confirm gate heights before delivery; if access is tight, request a smaller truck or an offload location during checkout. The driver will evaluate safety on arrival and may adjust the drop location if needed.
You may need a permit for blocking a public street, using a curb cut, or placing material on municipal property. Check with Union or county public works before scheduling deliveries that will use streets, sidewalks, or require traffic control. If you are unsure, contact our team and we can advise on common local requirements.
Drivers may offer tailgate spreading at their discretion, but this is not guaranteed. You can request spreading at checkout and the driver will assess whether it can be done safely upon arrival. For larger spreading jobs, consider hiring a contractor or scheduling additional labor separately.
Materials are sourced regionally so color, texture, and particle shape can vary based on local geology. Photos are representative; if color or texture is important, add specifics to Order Notes or contact our sales team for guidance. We will work with local suppliers to match your preferences when possible.
Plan deliveries for drier days when possible and avoid placing material directly on saturated or frozen ground to prevent sinking and contamination. If you need to store material short term, place it on a hard surface or use a tarp to limit mud and runoff. For time-sensitive projects, discuss scheduling windows and staging with our team.
Choose well-graded, free-draining materials and combine them with proper grading, terraces, or geotextile fabric to stabilize slopes and improve runoff. The right material choice depends on slope steepness, soil type, and your landscaping goals, so plan a test area or consult our team for recommendations. Using a layered approach often gives the best long-term results.
Contractors typically compare based on particle size range, drainage performance, compaction characteristics, and local availability rather than brand names. They will ask about the material's intended use, volume, delivery access, and regional source to make a practical selection that fits budget and schedule. You can provide project details at checkout and our team will help match common contractor criteria to available materials.
Contact our team as soon as possible; changes are easiest to accommodate before the order is dispatched. If the order is already en route, modifications may be limited and could incur additional fees. We will do our best to work with suppliers and haulers to find a satisfactory solution.
We accept all major credit cards, PayPal, and Apple Pay through a secure online checkout, and payment is collected at the time of order. For larger contractor accounts, discuss billing options with our sales team. You will receive order confirmation and delivery details by email and can contact customer service for invoice questions.
