Why Crockett Homeowners Choose Hello Gravel
Crockett is a small but steadily growing community of 9,050 residents, and its modest growth rate of 0.70% annually points to steady, predictable demand for home improvements and small-scale construction. That steady growth—combined with a metro area population exceeding 2.5+ million—means homeowners increasingly invest in durable, low-maintenance outdoor upgrades. With 228 sunny days a year and 34.80 inches of annual rainfall in hardiness zone 8b, local projects must balance sun exposure and periodic rain: materials that resist UV degradation, provide reliable drainage, and hold up to wet-dry cycles are especially important. Homeowners in Crockett are focusing on practical projects—driveways and pathways, erosion control on sloped lots, foundation backfill, and low-water landscaping—which all rely on quality bulk materials like aggregates, topsoil, sand, mulch, and stone. Choosing regionally sourced, contractor-ready materials helps ensure performance and reduces transport time and cost for local projects.Popular Projects in Crockett This Season

Frequently Asked Questions - Crockett Gravel Delivery
Everything you need to know about gravel delivery in Crockett.
Homeowners in Crockett typically order a mix of materials like gravel, sand, dirt, and stone for driveways, garden beds, and grading. Choosing between them depends on drainage needs, desired appearance, and how much compaction or stability you need. Use our material calculator or consult our team to match material properties to your project.
Crockett and the surrounding West Texas area can have hot summers and variable rainfall, which affects settling and erosion. Materials like gravel and crushed stone handle heavy rainfall and runoff better, while finer materials can compact or wash away more easily. Consider local drainage and seasonal weather when selecting materials and planning installation.
For erosion control and drainage, pick materials that promote runoff management and resist movement during storms, such as larger aggregate blends. Combine material selection with grading, geotextile fabric, and proper slopes to keep water flow controlled. If you have steep or highly erodible soil, consult a contractor for tailored recommendations.
Prices vary by material type, quantity, and delivery distance, but many bulk materials commonly fall in a wide range, roughly $15 to $75 per ton. Delivery fees, minimum order sizes, and seasonal demand can increase costs. For an accurate estimate, enter your zip code on our site or request a local quote.
Spring through fall is the busiest season for outdoor projects, so plan deliveries a few days to weeks ahead during those months. Standard delivery requires 2+ business days, and next-day delivery is available for orders placed before noon CST for an extra fee. Avoid scheduling heavy deliveries during or immediately after heavy rain to prevent rutting or placement issues.
Permit requirements vary by project and location; driveway expansions, curb cuts, or work affecting public right-of-way often need city or county approval. Check with Crockett city hall or Houston County public works before starting work, and secure any necessary permits before delivery. If in doubt, consult a local contractor or our team for guidance.
Most contracted dump trucks can access rural and residential properties, but narrow roads, low-hanging branches, or soft ground may limit access. Hello Gravel's minimum order is 3 tons, and drivers typically use tri-axle trucks; we recommend noting access issues in Order Notes and contacting our team if you have tight access. We will coordinate with local haulers to confirm safe delivery and placement.
Drivers will place material where it can be safely dumped; let us know preferred location in Order Notes, but final placement is at the driver's discretion for safety reasons. Tailgate spreading may be available upon request but is not guaranteed. Extra fees can apply for difficult access, offloading with smaller trucks, or last-minute changes—ask for any fee details when you get your quote.
Use our material calculator or measure the area and depth of the project to convert cubic feet to tons; most projects require estimating volume first and then selecting the appropriate material density. For driveways and paths, typical depths range from 3 to 6 inches depending on use; landscaping beds often use 2 to 4 inches. If you are unsure, contact our team with dimensions and project type for an estimate.
Contractors often recommend matching material size and compaction to the project's load and drainage needs, combining appropriate base materials with proper grading. They also advise preparing a stable subgrade, using geotextile fabric where needed, and allowing for adequate drainage away from structures. For larger or load-bearing projects, get a contractor estimate to ensure proper thickness and installation methods.
Natural materials vary by source, so color and texture can differ from online photos; if appearance is important, add notes to your order and ask our team about regional variations. To change an order, contact our customer service as soon as possible; we will try to accommodate changes before the order is processed or dispatched, but some changes may not be possible.
As of today, we require 2 business days for delivery.
