Why Gillette Homeowners Choose Hello Gravel
Gillette is a small but active community with a population of 3,100. Its steady annual growth rate of 1.20% annually means a measured but real uptick in home renovation, yard upgrades, and modest new construction—projects that drive steady demand for bulk materials. In a hardiness zone 8b climate with 228 sunny days and 34.32 inches of annual rainfall, homeowners need materials that balance moisture management with sun exposure. That translates into a need for well‑draining aggregates for driveways and grading, stable soils and sand for foundations and planting beds, and organic materials like mulch for moisture retention and soil health. In this environment, quality and correct sizing matter to prevent erosion, protect structures, and cut long‑term maintenance needs.Popular Projects in Gillette This Season

Frequently Asked Questions - Gillette Gravel Delivery
Everything you need to know about gravel delivery in Gillette.
Choose based on load, drainage, and maintenance needs. Consider how often vehicles will use the area, whether you need good drainage for freeze-thaw cycles, and the look you want. For most projects pick from our local materials (gravel, sand, dirt, stone) and use the online calculator or contact our team to confirm quantity and suitability for your site.
Think about drainage, weed control, and how the material will compact or shift over time. Select a material type that allows water to drain where needed and complements your hardscape. Our site and sales team can help you match a material from the local mix to common uses like beds, paths, and edging.
Gillette experiences seasonal freeze-thaw cycles and wet periods, so choose materials that drain well and resist frost heave. Finer materials can wash away or settle in heavy rain, while more angular, well-graded materials tend to lock together and hold up better through freeze-thaw. Local sourcing means the materials you receive reflect New Jersey geology and performance.
A quick rule: multiply the area in square feet by the desired depth in inches, then divide by 324 to get cubic yards. Different materials have different densities, so convert cubic yards to tons using our online calculator or ask our team for an estimate. Remember our minimum order is 3 tons and the calculator can help you pick a practical order size.
Plan deliveries during dry windows in spring through fall when ground is stable; avoid heavy rain or frozen ground when possible. Standard delivery is typically 2+ business days, and next-day delivery is available for orders placed before noon CST for an extra fee. Choose your preferred date at checkout and allow flexibility for weather and local logistics.
Clear the drop area of cars, toys, and debris, mark any sensitive surfaces, and ensure there is a clear path for a tri-axle dump truck. Note overhead wires, narrow driveways, and soft ground that might prevent a truck from getting close; you may want to lay plywood to protect turf. If you need material placed in a backyard, discuss access options with our team before ordering.
Drivers may be able to perform tailgate spreading at their discretion, but this is not guaranteed and depends on safety, terrain, and truck access. Request spreading at checkout and the driver will assess on arrival whether it can be done. For larger spreading jobs, plan for additional labor or hire a local contractor.
We work with contracted hauling fleets that use standard dump trucks (often tri-axle) and coordinate a delivery window with you. Make sure driveways and streets are accessible and check for any local parking or permit requirements. If a truck cannot access your preferred drop point, the driver will place material at the safest accessible location and you can arrange moving or spreading as needed.
Materials are regionally sourced, so texture and color reflect local geology and natural variation. Photos and samples are representative but not exact matches, especially for natural products like gravel, sand, dirt, stone. If color and texture are critical, note preferences in your order notes or request guidance from our team before purchase.
Check local town ordinances and any HOA rules for driveway or front-yard materials, stormwater controls, and erosion protections before you order. Some projects may require permits for grading, driveway changes, or large delivery trucks on residential streets. If in doubt, contact your local municipal office or HOA to confirm requirements before scheduling delivery.
Pricing is transparent and reflects material cost plus delivery; there is a 3-ton minimum for most orders. Standard delivery is generally included in many areas, while next-day service, special access charges, or extra handling may add fees. Taxes and any local permit costs are additional, and contractor labor for spreading or installation is not included unless arranged separately.
Contact our team as soon as possible—changes are easier to accommodate before the order is processed or dispatched. We will do our best to modify orders, but changes are subject to supplier and trucking schedules and cannot be guaranteed. For help, use the checkout contact options or call our sales team for guidance.
As of today, we require 2 business days for delivery.

We cannot get out of the truck and manually spread it. However, depending on the location, safety, and comfortability of the driver – we may be able to tailgate spread your material. This involves pulling the truck forward as material is being dumped to make it easier for you to distribute material after delivery.
The minimum order size is 3 tons.
