Why Rimrock Homeowners Choose Hello Gravel
Rimrock is a small but steadily growing community with a city population of 100 and a broader metro area population of 81,016 anchored around Malmstrom Air Force Base. A steady growth rate of 1.52% annually suggests moderate, ongoing demand for residential maintenance and incremental construction—think driveway upgrades, yard projects, and small additions rather than large-scale development. Rimrock’s semi-arid climate (about 300 sunny days per year and annual rainfall of 12.45 inches) and hardiness zone 4b shape practical choices: homeowners increasingly favor low-water landscapes, durable base layers for roads and driveways, and erosion-control measures that stand up to intense sun and sporadic storms. In this environment, reliable bulk materials—gravel, sand, topsoil, mulch, and stabilizing aggregates—matter because they control drainage, reduce dust, support plantings adapted to local conditions, and provide long-term stability for outdoor projects.Popular Projects in Rimrock This Season

Frequently Asked Questions - Rimrock Gravel Delivery
Everything you need to know about gravel delivery in Rimrock.
For most projects in Rimrock people order a mix of materials such as gravel, sand, dirt, and stone. These are used for driveways and pathways, base layers under patios and pavers, grading and fill, drainage trenches, and topsoil or planting mixes for landscaping.
Pick materials based on the job: choose well-draining, compactable aggregates for driveways and bases, looser mixes for play areas or playground surfacing, and screened soils or topsoil for planting beds. Consider load, drainage, appearance, and whether the material must resist freeze-thaw movement; our online calculator and sales team can help match a material to your plan.
Rimrock experiences freeze-thaw conditions that can cause frost heave, so choose materials that drain well and compact tightly for structural uses. For areas with freeze risk, larger crushed stone or mixed aggregates that shed water work better than fine sands or loose soils; adding a geotextile or a compacted base layer can also reduce movement.
Standard delivery is typically 2+ business days, with a next-day option available for orders placed before noon CST for an extra fee. Minimum orders start around 3 tons; lead times can vary by zip code and local supplier availability, so check your delivery date options at checkout.
Deliveries arrive by dump truck (usually tri-axle), so you should clear a drop zone free of overhead wires, vehicles, and fragile landscaping and confirm the truck can access your property. If access is limited, note it at checkout; drivers may offer tailgate spreading at their discretion but it is not guaranteed.
Calculate area in square feet and convert the desired depth to feet, then divide by 27 to get cubic yards (cubic yards = area x depth / 27). For tons, multiply cubic yards by the material's approximate weight per cubic yard or use our online calculator; if you’re unsure, contact our team for a quick estimate.
Late spring through early fall is generally best for deliveries and installation because ground is less likely to be frozen or overly wet. Winter deliveries are possible but can be more challenging and subject to delays, so plan ahead and book earlier in busy seasons.
No—because Hello Gravel sources materials locally, color, texture, and size can vary based on regional geology and stock at the supplier. You can note color or size preferences in your order notes, and contact customer service if the material looks significantly different than expected.
Tailgate spreading is when the driver uses the truck to partially spread material as they dump it; some drivers may perform this at their discretion if site conditions allow. Request the service at checkout, but understand drivers are not required to spread and no spreading is guaranteed.
Contact Hello Gravel as soon as possible with your order number; changes are easiest before the order is processed and dispatched. We will do our best to accommodate requests, but modifications or cancellations may be limited once a truck is scheduled.
As of today, we require 2 business days for delivery.

We cannot get out of the truck and manually spread it. However, depending on the location, safety, and comfortability of the driver – we may be able to tailgate spread your material. This involves pulling the truck forward as material is being dumped to make it easier for you to distribute material after delivery.
The minimum order size is 3 tons.
