Why Pride Homeowners Choose Hello Gravel
Pride’s city population is 3,520, and the area is expanding at a steady 0.40% annually — a pace that typically means consistent, manageable demand for home improvement and small-scale construction projects rather than sudden booms. In a market tied to a larger regional economy (metro area population: 2.7+ million), homeowners can expect regular upgrades to driveways, drainage systems, garden beds, and outdoor living spaces. Pride’s climate — hardiness zone 8b with 228 sunny days and annual rainfall of 34.25 inches — favors outdoor work most of the year but also requires materials that handle both heat and periodic moisture. That combination drives need for well-draining base materials, stabilizing soils, erosion-control products, and longer-lasting mulches and topdressings. For homeowners, the takeaway is simple: choose materials that balance drainage, stability, and longevity for local weather patterns, and plan orders to match seasonal project windows.Popular Projects in Pride This Season

Frequently Asked Questions - Pride Gravel Delivery
Everything you need to know about gravel delivery in Pride.
The best choice depends on traffic, drainage needs, and budget. For driveways you generally want a material that drains well and compacts into a stable surface; many homeowners in Pride choose a coarser aggregate blend rather than fine powders. Consider using a base layer and geotextile for added stability on weaker soils. If you’re unsure, use our material calculator or contact our team for a recommendation based on your site.
Delivery cost varies by material type, quantity, and distance from the local supplier. Hello Gravel provides transparent pricing at checkout, a 3-ton minimum order, and standard delivery in 2+ business days with next-day options available for an additional fee. You can check your price online or get a quote to see any delivery fees for your zip code. Large or remote jobs may have additional hauling or access charges.
In a humid, rainy area like West Louisiana, pick materials that promote drainage and resist fines washing out during heavy rain. Coarser, angular aggregates that lock together tend to perform better than very fine sand or silt-like materials. Regional sourcing means local suppliers can recommend mixes that match Pride’s soil and rainfall patterns. Also plan for erosion control and proper grading around slopes and drainage paths.
Check the short-term weather forecast and allow a buffer of several days for projects in rainy seasons. For standard delivery plan at least 2 business days ahead; if timing is tight, order next-day before noon CST when available. Avoid scheduling heavy placement or grading during extended wet spells, and consider doing site prep when the ground is driest. If a storm is expected, contact our team to discuss rescheduling options.
Yes — our network serves rural Pride addresses, but deliveries depend on access and local supplier routes. Most deliveries are made by tri-axle dump trucks, so they need reasonably wide and level access; share gate codes, low-hanging wires, or tight turns in Order Notes. There’s a 3-ton minimum and drivers may decline placement in unsafe conditions. If access is limited, we can explore alternate drop locations or smaller trucks where available.
Measure the area (length x width) and decide the desired depth, then convert to cubic yards (area x depth) and to tons using the material-specific density. Our website has a material calculator and an aggregate quiz to help with these conversions, or you can contact our team with your project dimensions for help. Always add 5-10% extra for compaction and grading waste. If you’re uncertain about density, tell us the material type and we’ll assist with the estimate.
On clay or poorly drained soils, prioritize improved drainage and a strong structural base rather than a single surface product. Larger, more angular aggregates and a compacted base layer, sometimes combined with geotextile fabric, help distribute loads and keep moisture from weakening the surface. In very soft spots, engineered fill or additional excavation and replacement with compactible material may be needed. Consult a contractor for grading and compaction plans if your site is especially wet or unstable.
Neither is universally better; it depends on the use. Gravel-like aggregates typically perform better for driveways and high-traffic areas because they drain and lock together, while sand is often used as a bedding or leveling layer for pavers and certain landscaping tasks. In many projects you’ll use both: sand for bedding and finer work, and coarser aggregate for drainage and structural support. Pick materials based on the specific task, and ask our team if you need a blended recommendation.
Hello Gravel manages sourcing and delivery; installation services vary by supplier and local contractors. Drivers may offer tailgate spreading at their discretion, but this is not guaranteed and depends on site safety and access. For grading, compaction, and professional placement, we recommend hiring a local contractor who can coordinate with delivery timing. Contact us and we can often connect you with local contractors or provide guidance for what to request.
Yes. Our minimum order is 3 tons and deliveries are typically made by tri-axle dump trucks, so narrow roads, low clearances, or tight turns can limit where a truck can go. Local regulations, HOA rules, or the need to block a street for unloading may require permits — check with your municipality and note any restrictions when you order. Provide site details at checkout so we can flag access issues and suggest alternatives or smaller truck options where available.
As of today, we require 2 business days for delivery.

We cannot get out of the truck and manually spread it. However, depending on the location, safety, and comfortability of the driver – we may be able to tailgate spread your material. This involves pulling the truck forward as material is being dumped to make it easier for you to distribute material after delivery.
The minimum order size is 3 tons.
