Why Maxwell Homeowners Choose Hello Gravel
Maxwell is a very small community with a city population of 160, located inside a larger metro region of 2.3+ million. With a steady growth rate of 0.40% annually, demand for homeowner improvements and modest construction projects tends to be consistent rather than volatile — think steady updates to yards, driveways, and small additions rather than a building boom. Maxwell’s climate, with 228 sunny days and 33.50 inches of annual rainfall in hardiness zone 8b, creates a long, reliable window for outdoor work but also produces alternating wet and dry cycles that affect material performance. For homeowners that means a focus on durable, low-maintenance solutions: base materials that resist settling, soils blended for plant health, and aggregates that balance drainage with stability. Selecting quality bulk materials (gravel, sand, dirt, mulch, stone, and blends) helps projects last longer and reduces follow-up repairs in this environment.Popular Projects in Maxwell This Season

Frequently Asked Questions - Maxwell Gravel Delivery
Everything you need to know about gravel delivery in Maxwell.
Pick a material based on how the area will be used, the drainage you need, and the look you want. For high-traffic areas choose a stable, compactable base; for planting beds or drainage areas choose a more permeable option. If you are unsure, use our material calculator or contact our team for a quick recommendation that fits West Indiana conditions.
Materials that allow water to pass through and resist movement are best for drainage and freeze-thaw areas. A well-graded, angular aggregate placed over a prepared base with proper slope and, when needed, geotextile fabric will help keep surfaces stable. Talk to our team about your site's slope and water flow so we can suggest suitable options for Maxwell's climate.
Measure the length and width of the area and decide on the depth you want in inches. Convert to cubic yards using: (length ft x width ft x depth in) / 324, then use our online calculator to convert cubic yards to tons since weights vary by material. If you prefer, send dimensions to our team and we will calculate an estimate for you.
Standard delivery typically takes 2 or more business days from order confirmation, and you can choose a preferred date at checkout. Next-day delivery is often available for orders placed before noon CST for an additional fee, subject to supplier and truck availability. We confirm delivery details by phone or text before dispatch.
We serve addresses around Maxwell, but rural deliveries can require extra time and may incur additional fees depending on distance, road conditions, and site access. Common extra fees for remote or difficult access deliveries typically range from modest amounts up to around $150, but exact costs depend on your location and supplier. Provide access details at checkout so we can give an accurate quote.
Deliveries are usually made by tri-axle dump trucks that need adequate turning and unloading space. Tell us about low-hanging wires, narrow lanes, weight-restricted roads, gates, or soft yards so we can coordinate the safest drop point. Marking the intended drop spot and leaving clear directions in Order Notes speeds delivery and reduces site issues.
Drivers may be able to do limited tailgate spreading at their discretion, but this service is not guaranteed and depends on safety and truck capabilities. You can request spreading at checkout and the driver will assess conditions on arrival. For consistent, finished grading we recommend hiring a local contractor or asking for professional spreading in advance.
We accept all major credit cards, PayPal, and Apple Pay through our secure online checkout. The minimum order is 3 tons; larger orders may qualify for different pricing or delivery arrangements. If you have special billing needs for a contractor project, contact our sales team for assistance.
Delivery cost depends on the amount ordered, delivery distance, road access, and requested timing. Many areas qualify for free delivery, while deliveries with limited access or longer distances may carry an additional fee. Get a quote at checkout or contact our team with your zip code for an accurate estimate.
We source materials regionally, so color, texture, and sizing can vary based on local geology and supply. Photos are representative; natural variation is normal and expected. If color or texture is important for your project, add preferences in Order Notes or contact customer service before ordering.
Permit rules vary by township and county, and may cover driveway connections, culverts, setbacks, or stormwater requirements. Check with your local building or highway office before work begins, and consider contacting Hello Gravel for common local considerations so you order the right materials. We can provide information on typical requirements but cannot issue permits.
Spring thaw and heavy rains can make sites muddy and slow down deliveries and installation, while frozen ground in winter can make grading difficult. Schedule projects during drier months when possible and choose materials suited for freeze-thaw cycles and runoff. If timing is tight, ask our team for material and scheduling recommendations that fit Maxwell's seasonal patterns.
Contractors should confirm material specification, lead time, truck sizes, staging area, and whether multiple drop locations are possible. Ask about bulk pricing, delivery windows for multi-truck loads, and any access constraints that could affect unloading. Providing project timelines and site details upfront helps us coordinate reliable deliveries.
Contact our customer service team as soon as possible; changes are easiest before an order is processed or before the truck is dispatched. We will do our best to accommodate modifications, but changes may be limited by supplier schedules and dispatch times. See our order policies or contact us for help with specific requests.
As of today, we require 2 business days for delivery.

This involves pulling the truck forward as material is being dumped to make it easier for you to distribute material after delivery.
The minimum order size is 3 tons.
