Why Marion Homeowners Choose Hello Gravel
Marion is a community of 33,060 residents facing steady, manageable growth. A 0.40% annual increase in population and inclusion in a larger 2.3+ million metro footprint mean construction and landscaping demand is growing gradually rather than spiking—ideal for homeowners planning long-term improvements. With about 228 sunny days a year and 33.50 inches of annual rainfall, projects here benefit from a predictable build season and relatively consistent working conditions. Marion’s Hardiness Zone 8b suggests a milder climate that affects plant choices, drainage needs, and material longevity. For homeowners, that translates into practical needs for a range of bulk materials—clean fill for grading, well-graded aggregates for driveways, engineered soils for planting beds, and erosion-control mixes for slopes. Choosing quality, regionally sourced materials helps ensure projects stand up to Marion’s sun exposure and seasonal rain while matching local soil and aesthetic preferences.Popular Projects in Marion This Season

Frequently Asked Questions - Marion Gravel Delivery
Everything you need to know about gravel delivery in Marion.
Start by thinking about function: drainage, traffic/load, and desired look. For most walkways, driveways, and garden beds you can choose from common options like gravel, sand, dirt, stone depending on whether you need drainage, a compacted base, or decorative finish. Use our online material calculator and chat with our sales team to compare options and get a recommendation based on your site and budget.
West Indiana’s freeze-thaw cycles and seasonal rainfall make drainage and stability important. Choose materials that shed water and compact well for areas that see vehicle traffic, and plan for proper base layers and edge restraints to reduce frost heave and erosion. If you are unsure, our team can advise on material mixes and installation approaches suited to Marion’s climate.
Measure the area (length x width) and decide the depth you want, then convert to cubic yards using our online calculator or request help from our sales team. Because weight varies by material, we convert cubic yards to tons for delivery; note our minimum order is 3 tons and our calculator can produce a tonnage estimate for common materials. If you provide dimensions and depth, our team can confirm quantities for you.
Standard delivery typically takes 2 or more business days, and next-day delivery is available for orders placed before noon CST for an additional fee. You choose your preferred delivery date at checkout and we confirm scheduling with the local hauler; check your zip code (46952) for specific availability and timing. Deliveries are made by contracted dump trucks, not Hello Gravel branded trucks.
Drivers usually dump on a driveway, flat area, or a location you designate in the order notes, but they will assess access and safety on arrival. Be sure to note obstacles like narrow driveways, low-hanging wires, sprinkler systems, and buried utilities before delivery. If the truck cannot safely reach your preferred spot, the driver will place the load where it is safest.
No. Because we source materials from local suppliers, color, texture, and size can vary based on regional geology and natural variation. Photos are representative; if color or texture is important, add preferences in Order Notes and contact our team to discuss local options. We will do our best to match your expectations but cannot guarantee an exact match to images.
Some drivers may offer tailgate spreading at their discretion, but this service is not guaranteed and depends on safety and timing. You can request spreading at checkout so the driver is aware, but plan for spreading as a separate task if you need precise grading or larger jobs. For consistent results on larger projects, consider hiring a local landscaper or contractor.
Rural and older suburban areas can have narrow roads, low-clearance obstacles, weight limits on short bridges, and tight turn radii that limit truck access. Add clear access notes at checkout, including gate codes, preferred approach, and any restrictions so we can coordinate with the hauler. If access is limited, the hauler may stage material at a safe location and you may need a smaller truck or additional handling.
Some projects may require city, county, or HOA approvals—especially if you will alter drainage, tie into a public street, or store large amounts of material on a public right-of-way. Check Marion city and Grant County rules and your HOA guidelines before scheduling delivery, and let us know if a street or special permit is required so we can coordinate timing. Local building departments can confirm permit needs for driveways, retaining walls, or large landscaping changes.
Pricing typically includes the material cost, delivery distance, truck type, order size, and any optional services or rush fees for next-day delivery. Difficult access, special staging, or offloading challenges can increase the delivery charge; our checkout shows transparent pricing before you pay. For large or ongoing contractor orders, contact our sales team to discuss volume options and scheduling.
Contact our customer team as soon as possible—changes are easiest before the order is processed or dispatched. We will do our best to accommodate requests, but modifications may not be possible once the supplier and hauler are scheduled. Refer to your order confirmation for contact options and timing details.
If something is wrong with the delivery or the materials, contact customer service promptly with photos and a description of the issue so we can work with the supplier and hauler. We will investigate and provide next steps based on our policies; see the refund and issue-resolution guidance on our site for details. Quick reporting helps us reach a satisfactory solution faster.
As of today, we require 2 business days for delivery.

We cannot get out of the truck and manually spread it. However, depending on the location, safety, and comfortability of the driver – we may be able to tailgate spread your material. This involves pulling the truck forward as material is being dumped to make it easier for you to distribute material after delivery.
The minimum order size is 3 tons.
