Why Rex Homeowners Choose Hello Gravel
Rex's community of 15,290 residents is part of a growing regional market that is increasing demand for home improvement and new construction. A steady growth rate of 2.10% annually means more remodeling, yard upgrades, and new builds that need reliable bulk materials. In a climate with 228/year sunny days and moderate precipitation of 34.00 inches annually, homeowners and contractors prioritize materials that balance drainage, durability, and water retention. That combination favors a range of aggregates and soils—well-graded base materials for driveways and paths, stable fill for grading and foundations, and organic mixes for planting beds. Quality matters because regionally sourced materials reflect local geology and perform better in local soils and weather; using the right blends helps reduce erosion, cut maintenance, and keep projects on schedule as the West Georgia metro expands (metro area population 2.3+ million). Local climate and soil behavior in Hardiness Zone 8b influence how materials perform over time: warm winters limit deep freeze-thaw cycles but summer heat and intermittent storms increase surface runoff and dust. Soils that compact or wash out under heavy rain require more stable base materials and attention to grade and drainage, while sunny, dry stretches increase the need for moisture-conserving top layers in planting areas. For homeowners in Rex, this means choosing materials with appropriate particle sizes and organic content, planning for compaction and settling, and timing deliveries around weather. Hello Gravel helps by connecting you to local suppliers, offering regional material guidance, and providing delivery and planning tools so you can choose blends and quantities suited to Rex’s specific conditions.Popular Projects in Rex This Season

Frequently Asked Questions - Rex Gravel Delivery
Everything you need to know about gravel delivery in Rex.
Prices vary by material type, local supply, and delivery, so contact us for a current quote in Rex. In West Georgia, typical ballpark ranges for common aggregates fall roughly between $30 and $80 per ton, but heavier, decorative, or specialty products can cost more. Final price includes delivery and any fees for next-day service or difficult access.
Coverage depends on material density and how deep you spread it. As a rule of thumb, one ton (about 0.7-0.8 cubic yards) will cover roughly 250 sq ft at 1" depth, about 120 sq ft at 2" depth, and about 80 sq ft at 3" depth. These numbers vary by material (gravel, sand, dirt, stone) and local density, so use them as estimates when planning.
Tonnage depends on your driveway width and desired depth. For example, a 100 ft long by 10 ft wide driveway at 2" depth needs about 6.2 cubic yards, or roughly 8 tons using typical local densities. Provide your exact length, width, and target depth or use our calculator for a tailored estimate.
Cost depends on local availability and the specific product; sometimes crushed stone is less expensive, other times a loose aggregate blend is cheaper. Choose based on function—load-bearing surfaces need angular, compacting material while decorative areas can use lighter, less expensive options—then compare quotes. We recommend getting local pricing in Rex to make the best cost decision.
Two inches is generally too thin for a driveway that will see regular vehicle traffic. For long-term stability most driveways benefit from 3-6 inches of compactable aggregate over a stable base, with deeper sections for heavy vehicles. If you only need a thin decorative top layer, 2 inches may be acceptable, but consult our team for a recommendation based on expected use.
Coverage depends on depth: at 1" depth, one ton covers roughly 200-250 sq ft; at 2" it covers about 100-130 sq ft; at 3" it covers about 65-90 sq ft. These estimates vary with material type (gravel, sand, dirt, stone) and compaction, so treat them as planning guides rather than exact values.
Typical tri-axle dump trucks used for residential deliveries in our network carry about 10-14 tons depending on material weight and local limits. Cost for a truckload varies with material, distance, and site conditions; in many West Georgia areas a single truckload can range widely, so request a quote for an accurate price. We can calculate capacity and costs for your address in Rex when you place an order.
Standard delivery requires 2+ business days with no extra fee, while next-day delivery is available for orders placed before noon CST for an additional charge. Minimum order is 3 tons, deliveries arrive by contracted dump truck fleets (typically tri-axle), and regional sourcing means materials reflect local geology. You can choose your preferred delivery date at checkout and add order notes for placement instructions.
Some drivers may provide tailgate spreading at their discretion, but this is not guaranteed. You can request spreading at checkout; the driver will assess safety and feasibility upon arrival. For precise spreading or large projects, consider hiring a landscaper or arranging professional spreading services in addition to delivery.
Start by defining the project (driveway, garden bed, drainage, base layer) and desired performance (drainage, compaction, appearance). Use our material quiz or contact our sales team to match common local materials like gravel, sand, dirt, stone to your needs, and consider factors such as depth, drainage, and local climate. We can also provide quantity estimates and regional recommendations for West Georgia conditions.
Contact our team as soon as possible if you need to change or cancel an order; modifications are easier before the order is processed and dispatched. We will do our best to accommodate requests, but changes are subject to supplier and hauler schedules and cannot be guaranteed. For immediate help call 855-241-8884 or text 844-407-3734.
