Why Enigma Homeowners Choose Hello Gravel
Enigma is a small but growing community of 2,010 residents located within a larger West Georgia metro of 2.3+ million people. A steady annual growth rate of 2.10% annually signals ongoing demand for housing, driveways, yard upgrades, and small-scale infrastructure projects—all activities that increase need for bulk landscaping and construction materials. With a moderate climate (Hardiness Zone 8b), about 228/year sunny days, and 34.00 inches of annual rainfall, homeowners and contractors here must balance materials that shed water, resist erosion, and support plant establishment. That means thinking broadly—base aggregates for stable driveways and patios, well-graded soils and amendments for planting beds, drainage rock for wet areas, and mulch for moisture retention—so projects last through seasonal rains and warm, sunny stretches. Local climate and weather patterns create practical requirements for how materials perform. Regular sun and moderate precipitation favor materials that support good drainage while retaining enough moisture for plantings; they also reduce concerns about extreme freeze-thaw cycling but increase focus on erosion control and settling after heavy rains. For homeowners that means selecting materials with proper grading, particle size, and organic content for the job, and planning for compaction and runoff. Hello Gravel helps by connecting you with suppliers who know local conditions, offering calculators and guidance to choose suitable blends, and coordinating delivery timing so materials arrive when you need them.Popular Projects in Enigma This Season

Frequently Asked Questions - Enigma Gravel Delivery
Everything you need to know about gravel delivery in Enigma.
Prices vary by material type, quality, and local supply. In Enigma you should expect different rates for gravel, sand, dirt, and stone depending on availability and delivery distance; check your zip code on our site for up-to-date per-ton pricing and any delivery fees. For an accurate number, get a quote or use our online calculator.
Most deliveries use tri-axle dump trucks that commonly carry about 10 to 14 tons, but actual capacity depends on the truck and the material's density. lighter materials like dry mulch or some sands may weigh less per cubic yard, while dense stone or wet dirt will weigh more. We list truck type and estimated tons at checkout and can confirm with your local hauler.
Tonnage depends on your driveway width and desired depth. As a rule, calculate cubic yards first (length x width x depth in inches / 324) and then convert to tons using roughly 1.2 to 1.6 tons per cubic yard depending on material; for a 100 ft by 10 ft driveway at 3 inches depth you would typically need about 11 to 15 tons. Use our material calculator for a tailored estimate based on the material you choose.
Suppliers and haulers can price either per ton or per truckload depending on the product and the order size. Hello Gravel displays pricing clearly for your zip code so you can see per-ton rates and any truck or delivery fees; large or whole-truck orders may have different pricing. If you prefer a truckload price, request a quote during checkout or contact our team.
Choose based on function: stability and compaction for driveways, smooth finish for patios, and permeability for drainage. Gravel, sand, dirt, and stone each serve different roles—use crushed stone or a mix for compaction, sand for leveling, and coarser stone for drainage. If you are unsure, use our aggregate quiz or call our team with project details and we will recommend suitable options for Enigma's conditions.
A common guideline called the 3-3-3 rule suggests applying about 3 inches of mulch, keeping mulch about 3 inches away from trunks or stems, and refreshing the layer roughly every 3 years. This helps retain moisture and suppress weeds while avoiding rot against plant bases, but adjust depth and frequency for local plant types and Enigma's seasonal rainfall. When in doubt, ask our team for material-specific advice.
For medium to large projects, buying in bulk by the cubic yard is usually cheaper per unit than buying many bags. Bagged material can be convenient for small jobs or tight spaces, but bulk delivery reduces cost and handling time for larger areas; factor in minimum order amounts, delivery fees, and storage space when deciding. Use our calculator to compare total costs for your project size.
Coverage depends on desired depth: at 3 inches depth, 1 cubic yard covers about 100 square feet, so 20 cubic yards would cover roughly 2,000 square feet. For other depths, multiply accordingly (for example, at 2 inches depth one cubic yard covers about 150 square feet). Check the project depth you need and use our calculator to convert cubic yards to tons for ordering.
Standard delivery is typically available in 2+ business days, and next-day delivery is offered for orders placed before noon CST for an additional fee. Deliveries are made by contracted dump truck fleets (usually tri-axle), and drivers may offer tailgate spreading at their discretion, but spreading is not guaranteed. You can choose a preferred delivery date at checkout and we will confirm scheduling with the local supplier.
Contact our team as soon as possible if you need to change or cancel an order; we will do our best to accommodate requests prior to processing. Changes become harder once the order is dispatched to a supplier or hauler, so early notice is important. If you have an issue with the delivery or material, reach out to customer service and we will work to resolve it according to our policies.

This involves pulling the truck forward as material is being dumped to make it easier for you to distribute material after delivery.
The minimum order size is 3 tons.
