Decomposed Granite
Known for its natural look, this compact, durable material drains well and holds up in high-traffic areas. Made from crushed and weathered granite down to a mix of fine gravel and sand—best for patios, paths, driveways, and landscape projects. Can range in color from light brown and tan to reddish and gray, depending on the natural stone color in the region.
Road Base
(Class 5 | ABC | Crusher Run) A mixture of crushed limestone or granite, gravel, and sand, ranging from 1 ½” in size down to fines (small particles). Commonly used for constructing roads, driveway bases, parking lots, and other paved and unpaved surfaces. Intended to be compacted, hence the inclusion of fines within the material to provide support and be resistant to erosion and shifting.

Why Washington Homeowners Choose Hello Gravel
Washington has a city population of 3,620, with a surrounding metro area population of 2.7+ million and steady growth of 0.40% annually. The local climate sits in hardiness zone 8b, averaging 228 sunny days per year and about 34.32 inches of rain annually. Those conditions mean homeowners here balance strong sun with moderate seasonal rain, which drives demand for durable, low-maintenance landscaping and reliable drainage solutions. Projects from driveway repairs to garden pathways and rain-runoff management all benefit from quality gravel that resists erosion, sheds water, and keeps surfaces stable under repeated use. For both DIYers and small contractors, locally sourced aggregates reduce haul time and provide material that matches Washington’s soil and weather patterns.Popular Projects in Washington This Season

Frequently Asked Questions - Washington gravel Delivery
Everything you need to know about gravel delivery in Washington.
Delivered gravel prices vary by material, haul distance, and season, but expect roughly $25 to $60 per ton (about $30 to $75 per cubic yard) as a general range in the West Oklahoma area. Decorative materials like river rock or colored pea gravel are usually at the higher end, while common crushed road base is cheaper. Hello Gravel requires a 3-ton minimum and may add fees for next-day delivery or long hauls, so get a zip-code quote for an exact price.
For clay soils in and around Washington, OK, crushed limestone or crusher-run (road base) are the best choices because they interlock and compact well, forming a stable surface. Avoid loose, round river rock or pea gravel for driveways unless you install geotextile fabric and edge restraint, since they shift on clay. If drainage is poor, consider a thicker base and proper grading before laying surface aggregate.
Heavy rain can cause rutting, washouts, and fines loss, while drought leads to dust and loosening of surface stones; freeze-thaw cycles can produce small heaves and depressions. Good design—crowned profile, drains, and edge restraints—reduces weather damage, and routine maintenance like grading and adding fresh gravel every 1 to 5 years keeps the surface stable. After big storms, inspect for ruts and potholes and refill low spots promptly to avoid larger repairs.
Yes. Hello Gravel’s platform connects you with local suppliers and contracted haulers that serve Washington and the West Oklahoma area; you can check your zip code on our site to see available materials and delivery windows. For installation, we can help you find local contractors or landscapers through our network, or you can request references when booking delivery. Contact our sales team if you need help matching material type and installation services.
A common residential build is 4 to 6 inches of compacted road base as the structural layer, capped with 2 to 3 inches of 3/4" crushed stone for the wearing surface. On clay soils, place geotextile fabric first to reduce mixing, install edge restraints, grade for a crown, and compact each layer thoroughly with a plate compactor or roller. Proper drainage (ditches or culverts) is essential to avoid water pooling and washouts.
Permit and HOA rules vary by city, county, and neighborhood, so check with Washington city hall, your county planning department, and your HOA before starting work. Typical requirements include driveway location, width, sight lines at the road, stormwater management, and sometimes culvert permits for roadside tie-ins. If you’re unsure, call our sales team for guidance or contact local officials to confirm rules for your property.
Standard delivery through Hello Gravel is generally 2+ business days, with next-day delivery available for orders placed before noon CST for an extra fee, but actual lead time can vary with supplier stock and weather. Spring and early summer are peak seasons and some decorative or specialty aggregates may have limited availability or longer lead times. Winter freeze-thaw and muddy spring conditions can also affect scheduling and delivery access.
Recycled crushed concrete is often 10% to 30% cheaper than similar virgin aggregates and performs well as a compacted base for driveways and pads. However, it can have more fines, variable color, and occasionally higher salt content or contaminants, so it’s less desirable as a decorative top layer. For a structural base it is a solid choice in West Oklahoma; for final surfacing, many homeowners prefer uniform crushed stone or pea gravel for appearance.
A quick rule: cubic yards = (square feet of area x depth in inches) / 324. For weight conversions, one cubic yard of gravel in this region typically weighs about 1.2 to 1.4 tons depending on material and moisture. Use Hello Gravel’s material calculator or contact our team with your dimensions and preferred depth and we’ll provide a recommended quantity and delivery quote.
Deliveries are made by local contracted dump trucks (often tri-axle) and Hello Gravel has a 3-ton minimum per order; drivers will place loads where access allows and can offer tailgate spreading at their discretion. Provide clear delivery notes (preferred drop location, obstacles, gate codes) at checkout and check for any access limitations such as low-hanging wires, soft ground, or tight turns that could affect truck access. If you need spreading or compacting services, request them at checkout and be prepared that drivers may decline for safety reasons.
As of today, we require 2 business days for delivery.
