Why The Heights Homeowners Choose Hello Gravel
The Heights is a growing community with a city population of 70,000 in the Raleigh, Tennessee Region and sits inside a metro area population of 1.4+ million. A steady growth rate of 2.00% annually is driving sustained demand for new homes, driveways, patios, and public infrastructure, which in turn increases need for reliable bulk supplies. With 213/year sunny days and average annual rainfall of 45.00 inches in hardiness zone 7b, projects here require materials that manage both wet-season runoff and warm-season drying. Homeowners and contractors are increasingly focused on long-lasting bases, effective drainage, erosion control, and landscape soils and mulches that support plantings with less maintenance. That combination of steady development and a temperate but humid climate makes buying quality aggregates, soils, sands, and mulches more about performance than appearance alone.Popular Projects in The Heights This Season

Frequently Asked Questions - The Heights Gravel Delivery
Everything you need to know about gravel delivery in The Heights.
Think about function first: drainage, load-bearing, appearance, and maintenance. For most jobs we recommend considering gravel, sand, dirt, stone as a group and matching particle size and compaction needs to your use—walkways and planting beds need finer, decorative mixes while driveways and base layers need coarser, well-graded material. Use our material quiz or contact our team for a short checklist based on your project goals and site conditions.
Our network supports landscaping, driveways, patios, drainage repairs, grading, and backyard projects where bulk aggregates are needed. Materials are suitable for both DIY homeowners and contractors; if you need installation help, ask about partner contractors or local installers when you order. Keep in mind larger construction projects may require coordination for multiple deliveries and equipment access.
A simple rule of thumb: 27 cubic feet equals 1 cubic yard, and 1 cubic yard covers about 324 sq ft at 1 inch depth (or 81 sq ft at 4 inches). Measure the area, choose the target depth (commonly 3-6 inches for surfaces, 6-12 inches for base layers), then calculate cubic yards and add 5-10% for compaction and waste. Use our online calculator for exact quantities by entering area and desired depth.
Standard delivery is usually 2+ business days from order confirmation, with next-day delivery available for orders placed before noon CST for an extra fee. Deliveries are made by contracted dump trucks (typically tri-axle) that need clear access and room to dump; driveway or site restrictions can affect placement. Choose your preferred date at checkout and contact us ASAP with access notes or special instructions.
Hello Gravel requires a minimum order of about 3 tons. Delivery fees vary by distance, supplier, and availability; many areas have free delivery thresholds while others charge a modest fee. Exact fees appear at checkout once you enter your zip code and delivery location.
Drivers may be able to perform tailgate spreading at their discretion, and you can request this service at checkout. Because safety, equipment, and site conditions vary, spreading is not guaranteed and is assessed by the driver upon arrival. If you need guaranteed spreading or final grading, plan to hire a contractor or schedule a separate service.
Local climate in the Tennessee Region—humid with seasonal rain—affects drainage and compaction needs, so pick materials that shed water and compact well where needed. Native soils can vary; clay-rich soils hold water and may need a thicker, well-draining base layer, while sandy sites drain faster and may require stabilization for load-bearing surfaces. Always account for freeze-thaw cycles and seasonal rainfall when planning depth and drainage solutions.
Some projects may trigger local permits or HOA rules, especially for driveway resurfacing, changes to curb cuts, or visible changes to front-yard surfaces. Check your city building department and HOA guidelines before ordering and ask your contractor about permit needs. When in doubt, contact our team for general advice and plan for extra lead time if permits are required.
Contractors commonly provide itemized quotes that separate material cost, labor, equipment rental, and hauling. Labor and equipment fees depend on job size, site access, and finishing requirements; ask for a written estimate showing per-hour or per-square-foot rates and any minimum call-out fees. If you want material-only, we deliver to your site and you can arrange installation separately or request referrals to local installers.
Because Hello Gravel sources regionally, texture and color reflect local geology and can vary from photos and samples. Expect natural variation in gravel, sand, dirt, stone and specify preferences in the Order Notes if color matters to you. If the delivered material differs significantly from expectations, contact customer service promptly so we can work to resolve the issue according to our policies.
Prices and availability generally follow local supply and demand and can differ from the broader Tennessee Region due to quarry locations and hauling distance. Urban-adjacent areas may see slightly higher delivery fees, while locations closer to suppliers may have better availability and lower transport costs. Enter your zip code on our site to see current pricing and supplier options for The Heights.
