Why Cedargrove Homeowners Choose Hello Gravel
Cedargrove is home to 120,000 residents, and that steady but modest population base—coupled with a 0.40% annual growth rate—means construction and landscaping demand is consistent rather than boom-and-bust. For homeowners that translates to more incremental neighborhood infill, yard upgrades, and routine infrastructure maintenance rather than large, sudden development projects. Cedargrove’s climate—with 228 sunny days annually and 33.50 inches of annual rainfall, in hardiness zone 8b—creates predictable seasonal cycles for outdoor work. Those conditions favor materials that balance drainage, compaction, and durability; homeowners need reliable bulk supplies such as gravels, sands, soils, mulches, and stone to build patios, manage stormwater, and create long‑lasting planting beds. Selecting the right material and quantity reduces rework and helps projects hold up through the local weather patterns and steady construction tempo.Popular Projects in Cedargrove This Season

Frequently Asked Questions - Cedargrove Gravel Delivery
Everything you need to know about gravel delivery in Cedargrove.
Start by matching the material to the project's purpose: load-bearing surfaces like driveways need stable, well-draining material, while garden beds or decorative paths prioritize appearance and weed control. Consider local climate (freeze-thaw cycles), drainage needs, desired look, and maintenance level; regional sourcing means color and texture vary. Use our material quiz or contact the sales team for recommendations and sample photos to compare options like gravel, sand, dirt, stone as a group.
Standard delivery is usually 2+ business days from order, with next-day available for orders placed before noon CST for an additional fee. Costs depend on material type, distance from local suppliers, and order size; many areas qualify for free delivery and orders start at a 3-ton minimum. Check your zip code on our site for exact pricing and delivery windows.
Freeze-thaw cycles can cause heaving, settling, and loss of fines in any loose aggregate if drainage and compaction are inadequate. Plan for good subgrade preparation, proper drainage, and appropriate compaction or edging to reduce movement over time. Scheduling installation during milder seasons and choosing materials suited for local conditions will improve long-term performance.
Local town, county, and HOA rules can affect driveway width, curb cuts, impervious surface limits, and allowed surface materials. Before you order, check Cedargrove and Dearborn County (or your HOA) permit requirements and any neighborhood design guidelines. Hello Gravel can help with material estimates but cannot issue permits; contact local planning offices for definitive guidance.
Late spring through early fall is generally the most reliable window for delivering and installing bulk materials, when ground is unfrozen and rain is less frequent. Avoid scheduling heavy deliveries during freeze-thaw periods or during prolonged wet spells to reduce tracking, compaction problems, and delivery delays. If you need work outside this window, plan extra time and discuss contingencies when booking.
Calculate area in square feet and decide the desired depth in inches, then use this formula: area x depth / 324 = cubic yards. Convert cubic yards to tons using density estimates or our online calculator, and remember Hello Gravel's minimum order is 3 tons. If you prefer, use our material calculator or contact our team with project dimensions for a quick estimate.
Materials are delivered by contracted dump trucks (typically tri-axle); drivers will place material where accessible and safe to do so. Tailgate spreading may be available at the driver's discretion—request it at checkout—but there are no guarantees and drivers will assess safety on arrival. Clear the drop zone, remove low-hanging branches or obstacles, and let us know any access constraints when you place the order.
As of today, we require 2 business days for delivery.
Use our material calculator here: https://hellogravel.com/calculator/ to enter the length, width and depth measurements of your project. It will automatically calculate the cubic yards/tons needed. If you are unsure how much to order, contact our team for guidance.

This involves pulling the truck forward as material is being dumped to make it easier for you to distribute material after delivery.
