Decomposed Granite
Known for its natural look, this compact, durable material drains well and holds up in high-traffic areas. Made from crushed and weathered granite down to a mix of fine gravel and sand—best for patios, paths, driveways, and landscape projects. Can range in color from light brown and tan to reddish and gray, depending on the natural stone color in the region.
Walkway Gravel
A smaller ⅜” crushed stone that is great for paths, patios, and garden walkways. Comfortable under foot thanks to its smaller size, and creates a beautiful garden-like atmosphere.
Road Base
(Class 5 | ABC | Crusher Run) A mixture of crushed limestone or granite, gravel, and sand, ranging from 1 ½” in size down to fines (small particles). Commonly used for constructing roads, driveway bases, parking lots, and other paved and unpaved surfaces. Intended to be compacted, hence the inclusion of fines within the material to provide support and be resistant to erosion and shifting.

Why Miramar Beach Homeowners Choose Hello Gravel
Miramar Beach (city population 7,220) sits in a growing coastal region with a local growth rate of 0.40% annually and easy outdoor living thanks to a subtropical climate (hardiness zone 8a), about 228 sunny days per year, and roughly 34.25 inches of annual rainfall. That combination—frequent sun, seasonal downpours, and sandy coastal soils—keeps homeowners working on outdoor projects year-round, from low-maintenance landscaping to driveway repairs and erosion control. Demand for reliable aggregates is driven by the need for materials that manage drainage, stabilize soils, and stand up to coastal conditions, whether you are refreshing a pathway, improving yard grading, or preparing a base for hardscaping. In Miramar Beach, gravel is a practical choice because it sheds water, reduces pooling after storms, and integrates well with sandy soils that dominate coastal lots. Select angular, well-graded gravel for driveways and bases where compaction matters, or choose rounded decorative gravel for paths and garden beds where look and foot comfort matter most. Hello Gravel connects Miramar Beach homeowners with local suppliers and professional dump truck delivery, offers clear pricing and scheduling, and helps you calculate quantities and pick the right aggregate so your project performs well in this sunny, rainy coastal environment.Popular Projects in Miramar Beach This Season

Frequently Asked Questions - Miramar Beach gravel Delivery
Everything you need to know about gravel delivery in Miramar Beach.
Prices vary by gravel type and supplier, but expect roughly $30 to $80 per ton delivered for common gravels in the Miramar Beach area. A rule of thumb is about 1 cubic yard = 1.3 tons for most gravels, so that equals about $40 to $100 per cubic yard delivered. Final price depends on material type (pea gravel, crushed stone, shell), local availability, and delivery distance; Hello Gravel requires a 3-ton minimum order.
A standard tri-axle truckload is generally about 8 to 12 tons depending on the material and truck; many jobs use a 10-ton estimate. Using $30 to $80 per ton, a delivered truckload typically runs about $300 to $800 for material alone and $400 to $1,500 total once delivery and local fees are included. Exact totals depend on truck size, material type, and any delivery surcharges for your location.
To cover 1,000 sq ft at 3 inches (0.25 ft) you need about 250 ft3 or 9.3 cubic yards, which is roughly 12 tons of gravel. At $30 to $80 per ton, material cost would be about $360 to $960, with delivery and fees adding roughly $100 to $300 depending on distance and truck size, so expect a delivered total around $460 to $1,260. Always round up slightly to allow for compaction and grading, and remember Hello Gravel has a 3-ton minimum.
Hello Gravel coordinates delivery via local dump-truck haulers; drivers may perform tailgate spreading at their discretion if requested at checkout, but this service is not guaranteed. For full spreading/installation done by crews, expect contractor labor rates commonly in the Miramar Beach area of about $40 to $80 per hour per worker, or flat jobs from about $200 to $600 depending on driveway size and equipment needed (skid-steer rental adds cost). We can help you request tailgate spreading and connect you with local contractors, but Hello Gravel does not guarantee installation services.
For driveways near Miramar Beach, angular crushed stone (3/4") or crushed limestone give good compaction and drainage; pea gravel is attractive but can move under traffic. For coastal yards, washed shell or crushed shell and washed coarse sand are popular because they match the local look and tolerate salt exposure, though shells can crush and migrate. Price-wise, crushed stone is mid-range, pea gravel is often a bit more expensive, and decorative shell or specialty washed sand tends to be at the higher end due to sourcing and handling.
Hello Gravel has a 3-ton minimum order. Bulk pricing or discounts are often available for larger orders (several truckloads) and vary by supplier and region. Delivery fees depend on supplier distance and access; many areas offer free delivery, but Miramar Beach deliveries may incur a fee or surcharge depending on the hauler and access constraints.
Local rules can apply in Miramar Beach and Walton County, especially for coastal properties, curb cuts, stormwater management, and HOA aesthetic rules. Permits may be required for changing driveway locations or altering drainage; HOA covenants commonly restrict visible materials and shell use. We recommend checking Walton County building and zoning or your HOA before ordering; Hello Gravel can provide product specs to help with approval but cannot file permits on your behalf.
Yes—many local suppliers carry washed beach-style sand or white quartz sands suitable for landscaping and play areas, subject to local availability. Expect prices roughly in the $30 to $80 per ton range, depending on grain quality and hauling; delivery options mirror our gravel service with 2+ business day standard delivery and next-day available for orders placed before noon CST for an extra fee. Beach sand is usually not recommended as a structural base for driveways without proper stabilization.
Typical yearly top-up for a 1-2 car driveway (about 600 to 1,000 sq ft) is usually 1 inch to 2 inches of gravel, equaling roughly 3 to 8 cubic yards (about 4 to 10 tons). Material plus delivery normally runs between $150 and $800 per yearly top-up depending on material choice and delivery fees, with additional labor or spreading charges if you hire help. Coastal properties may need more frequent top-ups after storms or heavy rain.
Standard delivery is 2+ business days, and next-day delivery is available for orders placed before noon CST for an additional fee. Rush requests, weekend deliveries, and specific time windows depend on local hauler availability and usually carry extra charges. Always check delivery options and any access or timing notes at checkout to avoid delays.
As of today, we require 2 business days for delivery.
