Why Argyle Homeowners Choose Hello Gravel
Argyle has a population of 46,680 and sits within a steadily growing West Texas region. That 0.70% annually growth rate signals steady demand for new homes, driveways, patios, and yard upgrades rather than a sudden boom—meaning homeowners and local contractors can expect consistent, predictable needs for bulk materials over time. With a hardiness zone of 8b, an average of 228/year sunny days, and annual rainfall around 34.80 inches, local projects must balance sun exposure and periodic rain. These conditions favor materials that manage runoff, reduce erosion, and stand up to prolonged UV exposure. For Argyle homeowners, that means ordering the right mix of base materials, drainage-friendly aggregates, quality topsoil blends, and organic mulches to support drought-tolerant planting and durable hardscapes. As neighborhoods expand, reliable access to a variety of bulk supplies—gravel, sand, dirt, mulch, and stone—becomes essential for successful, low-maintenance outdoor projects.Popular Projects in Argyle This Season

Frequently Asked Questions - Argyle Gravel Delivery
Everything you need to know about gravel delivery in Argyle.
Common projects include driveway resurfacing and new driveway bases, patios and walkways, grading or releveling yards, garden beds and raised planters, drainage or erosion control work, and small hardscape or retaining wall backfill. Quantities vary by project size: small garden beds often need 1-3 tons, a patio base 3-10 tons, and typical single-car driveways can be 15-30 tons. If you are unsure, use our material calculator or contact our team for a quick estimate.
Argyle's hot, dry summers and occasional heavy rains mean you should prioritize materials that handle heat, resist washout, and provide good drainage. Materials that compact well and shed water reduce erosion during storms, while lighter colors and stable aggregates can help with heat absorption. Expect regional variations in texture and color because materials are sourced locally.
Start with the project's function: load-bearing surfaces need more stable, compacting materials while decorative areas can use looser, lower-cost options. Consider drainage, maintenance frequency, and appearance, and think about long-term upkeep like replenishment or weed control. Use our aggregate quiz or talk to our team to match your goals and budget to suitable materials like gravel, sand, dirt, stone.
Standard delivery is 2+ business days, with next-day available for orders placed before noon CST for an extra fee; minimum orders start at 3 tons. Deliveries use dump trucks (typically tri-axle), so plan for truck access, adequate turnaround space, and a clear drop zone. Drivers may offer tailgate spreading at their discretion, but this is not guaranteed.
Clear the intended drop area of vehicles, low-hanging branches, and loose obstacles, and mark utilities or landscaping features to avoid damage. Measure and designate a safe drop zone that allows a dump truck to back up or approach without blocking traffic, and warn neighbors if street access may be affected. If you need spreading, request it at checkout and be ready for the driver to assess feasibility on arrival.
Some projects and visible surface changes can be subject to city permits or HOA rules, such as driveway replacements or front-yard material changes. Check Argyle city requirements and any HOA guidelines before ordering so you meet setback, material, or appearance rules. We recommend contacting your HOA or the city planning department early in your planning.
Avoid scheduling major installs right before predicted heavy rain, since wet conditions can cause tracking, settling, and delays. Summer heat can make on-site work more difficult and affect how materials handle, so plan delivery times for cooler parts of the day when possible. Also allow lead time in peak landscaping seasons when supplier and truck availability may be limited.
There are tradeoffs: more compactable materials tend to be more durable under vehicle traffic but may cost more upfront and need proper base preparation. Looser or decorative materials are often cheaper but require more frequent replenishment and weed control. Consider expected use, appearance goals, and maintenance willingness when balancing durability and cost.
Costs vary by material type, quantity, distance from suppliers, site access, and any added services like spreading. As a general ballpark, small residential loads (3-10 tons) may run from a few hundred to around $1,500, while larger driveway projects (20-40 tons) commonly range from about $1,000 to several thousand dollars. For an accurate figure, use our material calculator or request a tailored quote through our site.
Measure the area (length x width) and determine the desired depth, then use our online material calculator to convert cubic feet to tons based on the material type. For base and driveway projects, common depths are deeper than for top dressing or decorative covers, so double-check recommended depths for your project. Remember our minimum order is 3 tons and that local sourcing can affect the delivered quantity and texture.
Natural materials reflect local geology, so texture and color may vary from photos; we note these regional differences at checkout. Contact our team as soon as possible to request order changes—modifications are easier before dispatch but not guaranteed. If you have concerns after delivery, reach out to customer service and we will work to resolve the issue per our policies.
