Why Junction Homeowners Choose Hello Gravel
Junction is a small city of 1,000 residents in the Central-Alameda, California Region and sits within a metro area of 2.3+ million people. Growing at 2.50% annually, the area is seeing steady residential and infrastructure activity that translates into rising demand for landscaping and construction supplies. Junction’s climate and geography—USDA hardiness zone 8b, about 228 sunny days annually, and 33.20 inches of rainfall per year—support outdoor living and drought-tolerant planting while also producing seasonal runoff. Together, these factors increase the need for a wide range of bulk materials: drainage-friendly aggregates, structural soils and base materials for patios and driveways, erosion-control mixes and mulches, and sand or bedding materials for hardscape installations. For homeowners, sourcing quality bulk materials means more durable installations, fewer maintenance headaches, and better-performing landscapes in local conditions.Popular Projects in Junction This Season

Frequently Asked Questions - Junction Gravel Delivery
Everything you need to know about gravel delivery in Junction.
Start with the job: drainage, load-bearing (driveways), walking surfaces, decorative beds, or backfill. Consider appearance, maintenance, and how the material compacts or drains; different applications favor different textures and sizes. Because materials reflect local geology in the California Region, use our material quiz or contact our team for guidance if you are unsure.
Local climate and soil can change how materials perform: heavy clay soils hold water and may need material that improves drainage, while dry, sandy soils behave differently. In the California Region, plan for occasional wet seasons and erosion control when choosing materials. If drainage is a concern, pick materials and installation approaches that promote water movement away from structures.
Common projects include driveways, walkways, patios, garden beds, drainage swales, grading, and backfill for foundations. Contractors and homeowners both use bulk deliveries for erosion control and large landscaping jobs. Our service fits jobs that need several tons of material delivered by dump truck.
A simple rule is: square footage times depth (in inches) divided by 324 equals cubic yards needed. Material weight varies, so tons per cubic yard differ by product; use our online calculator or contact support to convert cubic yards to tons. Remember the minimum order is 3 tons, so round up accordingly and add 5-10% for waste or compaction when planning.
Standard delivery is 2+ business days, and next-day delivery is available for orders placed before noon CST for an additional fee. Materials are delivered by contracted dump trucks, typically tri-axle, and you can choose your preferred delivery date at checkout. Exact timing depends on supplier availability and local logistics, so plan ahead for projects.
Delivery cost depends on distance from the supplier, load size, material type, site access and difficulty of placement, and whether you need expedited (next-day) service. Some areas have free delivery while others include a fee; check your zip code to see local pricing. Additional charges may apply for street permits or special handling.
Drivers may be able to perform tailgate spreading at their discretion, and you can request this service at checkout. The driver will assess safety and practicality upon arrival, but there are no guarantees of spreading. For large or precise spreading needs, consider hiring a local landscaper or equipment service.
Possibly. Permits can be required for blocking streets, placing material on public right-of-way, or for certain types of hardscape work; HOAs may have rules on material appearance and delivery timing. Check with Junction city or county offices and your HOA before ordering, and call 811 to locate underground utilities before digging or heavy placement.
Clear a path for the truck, remove low-hanging branches or obstacles, and mark the exact drop location with flags or plywood to protect lawn and hard surfaces. Make sure the ground is firm enough to support a heavy truck and communicate any access limitations to our team before delivery. If placement is on the street or blocks traffic, verify permit needs in advance.
Materials like gravel, sand, dirt, and stone vary by local geology and natural color and texture, so they may not exactly match photos. Weather, season, and supplier source can affect appearance and moisture content. If color or consistency is important, add notes to your order and ask our team for available local options before placing your order.
Yes. Wet seasons can delay deliveries and affect material compaction and workability, while spring and early summer are often busier for landscapers and suppliers. Schedule deliveries in advance during peak seasons and avoid heavy rain windows for jobs requiring compaction or curing. Store materials covered if rain is forecast to keep them dry and usable.
