Why Yukon Homeowners Choose Hello Gravel
Yukon homeowners are part of a steadily growing community with a city population of 86,205 and access to a larger West Oklahoma metro of 2.3+ million residents. Local growth (0.40% annually), a sun-forward climate with 228/year sunny days, and average annual rainfall of 33.50 inches combine to shape how yards and jobsites perform. In a hardiness zone of 8b, property owners and contractors routinely need reliable materials to manage grading, drainage, and site preparation. That demand makes quality aggregates—like fill-dirt—important for everything from bringing low spots up to grade to creating compacted pads for sheds, patios, and foundations. Homeowners choosing the right dirt reduce future settling, cut down on erosion during heavy rains, and create more consistent planting beds under Yukon’s sunny, occasionally wet conditions. Fill-dirt works well in Yukon because its low-organic composition and good compaction properties help stabilize soil in a climate that averages 33.50 inches of rain and 228/year sunny days. Use fill-dirt to raise grades, backfill trenches, or build a level base before adding topsoil and turf; compact in 4–6 inch lifts for best results. Hello Gravel simplifies sourcing by connecting you with local suppliers and dump-truck delivery, transparent pricing, a minimum order of 3 tons, standard 2+ business day delivery, and a next-day option for orders placed before noon CST (additional fee). Drivers may be able to perform tailgate spreading at their discretion; request it at checkout.Popular Projects in Yukon This Season

Looking for Fill Dirt in Yukon ?
Frequently Asked Questions - Yukon Fill Dirt Delivery
Everything you need to know about fill dirt delivery in Yukon.
Fill dirt is usually cheaper per cubic yard than crushed gravel because it is a less-processed material. In the Yukon/West Oklahoma area you’ll often pay less for delivered fill dirt, but final price depends on haul distance, truck type, and site access. Use our order calculator or request a quote to see exact delivered pricing for your address.
Fill dirt is native subsoil with few rocks, used to raise grade or fill holes; it compacts well but drains poorly. Gravel is crushed rock used for structural bases and drainage; for driveways you typically want gravel or a gravel base over compacted fill dirt rather than plain fill dirt alone. For yard fill or building up low spots, fill dirt is usually the right choice.
Local suppliers serving Yukon commonly offer standard fill dirt (clean subsoil), screened fill (fewer clods and roots), and engineered structural fill for larger projects. Because Hello Gravel sources regionally, material texture and clay content can vary across West Oklahoma—ask for a sample photo or description when you order. Specify 'screened' in Order Notes if you need fewer rocks and debris.
You can order through Hello Gravel’s website by entering your Yukon zip code to see local suppliers and available delivery dates. We connect you with vetted local haulers and manage scheduling, so you get transparent pricing and coordinated delivery without contacting multiple yards. For questions or custom requests call 855-241-8884 or text 844-407-3734.
Delivered prices vary by supplier, distance, and site conditions, but many West Oklahoma customers see 10-yard loads in a broad local range. A reasonable estimate is to expect a few hundred dollars for a 10-yard load, but the exact cost is shown on your Hello Gravel quote for your address and requested delivery date. Request a quote to get an exact delivered price.
Assuming a 20 ft by 20 ft driveway (400 sq ft): 2" depth needs about 2.5 cubic yards, 4" needs about 5 cubic yards, and 6" needs about 7.5 cubic yards. In tons, using a common conversion of 1.2–1.4 tons per cubic yard, those are roughly 3–3.5 tons, 6–7 tons, and 9–10.5 tons respectively. Always round up and add 5-10% for compaction and grading waste.
Site preparation is recommended: remove vegetation, regrade to the desired slope, and compact in lifts (6"–8" layers) for stable results. For driveways you should install a compacted structural base (crushed rock) on top of or instead of fill dirt for drainage and bearing capacity. Local contractors in Yukon provide grading and compaction services if you prefer not to do it yourself.
Yes, proper compaction is critical for fill dirt to prevent future settling; compaction in lifts is the usual method. Compaction is not included with standard delivery; drivers may offer limited tailgate spreading at their discretion but won’t perform mechanical compaction. Hire a local contractor or rent a plate compactor or roller to compact the material after delivery.
Buy in bulk to reduce per-yard hauling costs and check for screened versus unscreened options based on your needs—unscreened is cheaper but may require more onsite removal. Compare Hello Gravel quotes from multiple local suppliers, schedule delivery on a weekday for better availability, and consolidate orders to meet minimums (our minimum is 3 tons). Ask suppliers about discounts for larger orders or repeat purchases.
Many suppliers in the OKC/Yukon area offer standard 2+ business day delivery windows and next-day service for orders placed early in the day, often for an extra fee. Bulk discounts and preferred scheduling are commonly available for larger orders; Hello Gravel shows available delivery dates and any fees at checkout. Contact our support team if you need a specific delivery window or same-day options for large projects.
West Oklahoma soils often include clay that can expand and shrink with moisture, so pure clay fill may lead to settling or drainage problems if not managed. For yards and areas that require drainage, consider mixing granular material or using screened fill and proper grading to prevent water pooling. Mention any intended use in your order notes so suppliers can recommend the best local material.
As of today, we require 2 business days for delivery.
